Mao Zedong, who is universally considered as one of the greatest political leaders in Chinese history, was born on December 26,1893 in a small village in Xiangtan County, Hunan Province. From 1902 to 1909, Mao Zedong received his early education in private schools in his hometown. In 1918, he graduated from Hunan Teachers’ College, after which he worked as a librarian in Peking University. And during that period, he published a lot of articles that influenced many people. Besides, for a very long time, he devoted himself to the revolution of China and founded the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949. In a word, Mao Zedong has made great contributions to China and is still respected by all the Chinese people.
