instead (adv) 代替 , 一般要放在谓语或宾语之后，含有“取而代之”的意思。 She is tired. Let me go instead.

instead of …, + 名词，代词或相当于名词的词语， 意为“代替…”, “而不是…”

How 引导特殊疑问句，有两种含义。 ①表示问候 : eg. How do you do ?
