Unit5 Action presentation

1.sound operator音响师 sound名词:声音

Have you heard the sound of birds singing? 辨析:sound,voice和noise sound 泛指可听到的一切声音。 Peter heard the sound of gunfire. voice 多指人发出的声音 。 He has a good voise. noise 通常指不悦耳,不和谐的噪音,嘈杂音。 There was too much noise in the room. All she could heard was the of the waves. He was singing in a low . Try not to make so much .

2.director导演

director可数名词:导演,主任 【拓展】

direction 名词:方向

Could you show me the right direction?

direct形容词:直接的,直的 反义词:indirect There is no a direct answer for you.

3.make-up artist化妆师 make- up 名词短语:化妆

动词短语,意为: ; ; ; Women officers make up 13 percent of the police force. It's very unkind of you to make up stories about him. Her beauty can't make up for her stupidity. She spent too much time making herself up.

5.Is everyone ready?

everyone不定代词,意为:每个人,大家;相当于everybody,主要用法如下: 1)用作主语时,谓语动词使用第三人称单数形式。 Everyone knows the importance of keeping healthy.

2)everyone做主语的陈述句,其附加疑问句的主语习惯上用they. Everyone is here,aren’t they?

6.Suddenly one of them passed out and fell across her desk. 1)suddenly副词,意为:突然地,相当于all of a sudden. Suddenly, my dog barked at the door.

sudden形容词,意为:突然的,意外的;也可作名词,意为:突然发生的事

2)pass out 固定短语,意为:昏迷,失去知觉 He would pass out if he took one more drink.

hurry此处用作动词,意为:急忙,匆忙。 hurry to do sth.匆忙做某事 He hurried to finish his homework. 【拓展】

1)hurry还可用作名词, 常用搭配: in a hurry 匆忙 in no hurry不着急 I am in a hurry to get some information about the city.

He put on his clothes . 他急忙穿上衣服。 Many single women are to marry. 很多单身女性不着急结婚. She hurried (tell) me the bad news. 2)hurried形容词,意为:匆忙的 hurriedly副词 They had to make a hurried decision. He ran to the bus station hurriedly.

8.“We need another contestant,” he shouted. another 此处用作形容词,意为:又一,再一;泛指三个或以上的另一个。其后接单数名词/基数词+复数名词。 I'll give you another example.

I don’t like this shirt, please show me .我不喜欢这件衬衫,请再给我一件。 【拓展】

1)another +基数词+复数名词=基数词+more+复数名词

I want to eat another two cakes.=I want to eat two more cakes. 2)another还可作代词,意为:另一个,又一个。

9.Who among you wants to be on TV?

among介词,意为:在......中间,在.......之中,.......之一

The village is among the hills. Among her novels,this is the best.

Beijing is among the largest cities in China. 注意:among与between区别

10.Angela raised her hand.

raise (raised,raised)及物动词,意为:举起 Suddenly he raised his head and shouted at me. 辨析:raise和rise raise 及物动词 意为:举起,提高,筹集,养育 rise (rose,risen) 不及物动词 上升,升起 The sun in the east and sets in the west. I think we should some money for them. It’s very difficult for parents to a family.

She her seat to welcome him. 她站起来欢迎他。

11.He led her onto the stage, and a make-up artist rushed forward. 1) lead(led,led)及物动词,意为:领导,指引。

lead sb to sp. 把某人带去某地 lead to 导致,通向 He led us to the museum.

2)forward副词,意为:向前 。 反义词:backward

She took another step forward.

it’s time for sb. to do sth. 到某人做某事的时间

13.Although Angela was not prepared, she seemed relaxed and did really well. relaxed形容词,意为:放松的,冷静的

辨析:take part in,join,join in 与attend attend: 意为“出席,参加(会议,讲座,婚礼,报告等)” I didn’t attend the meeting. join: 意为“加入某个组织”,强调成为某个团体中的一员,比较正式 join a club参加社团, join the army参军, join the Party入党 He joined the League when he was ten. ①I will never forget the day when I joined the Party. ②Will you join us for dinner? join in: 意为“参加某项活动”(小型活动),尤其指和其他人一起参加某项活动 ①May I join in the game? ②I hope you’ll all join in the discussion. take part in: 指参加群众性活动、会议、劳动、游行等(大型活动),往往指参加者持有积极的态度,起一份作用,有时与join in可互换。 ①Will you take part in the English evening? ②All the students took an active part in the thorough cleaning. ③We should take an active part in school activities.
