活动目标 The objectives

Words and phrases: 1. Using the key words in context. One two three four five six seven eight nine ten

Eg, One two three 2. Using wh-questions to find out a person's age 3. Using the modled sentence to give specific information eg., It's your birthday today. 4. Using formulaic expressions to express good wishes eg. Happy birthday! 活动过程 Teaching Steps Pre-task Activities Step 1

Sing a song: on page 2 of SB 1B

Write 1-10 on the blackboard when the students say the rhyme. Step 2

Show a picture of a boy/girl and introduce him/her to the students. Then draw a

birthday cake with several candles on it. Ask the students to guess how old the boy/girl is. You may ask them to count the candles on the birthday cake with you together.

While-task Activities Step 1

Have the students count some items of school supplies, such as pencils, Step 2

Have the students listen to the recording for ‘Look and say’ on P10 and read after the tape. Step 3

Have the students read the \Post-task Activities Step 1

Encourage students to make a new dialogue. Eg,

S1: It's your birthday today. Happy birthday! S2: Thank you.

S1: How old are you, XXX? S2: I'm ...
