Can trees talk? Yes, and not in words. Scientists have reasons to believe that trees do communicate with each other. Not long ago, researchers learned some surprising things. First a willow tree was attacked in the woods by caterpillars (毛虫) changed the chemistry of their leaves and made them taste so terribly that they got tired of the leaves and stopped eating them. Then even more astonishing, the tree sent off a special smell---a signal causing its neighbors to change the chemistry of their own leaves and made them less tasty. Communication, of course, doesn’t need to be in words. We can talk to each other by smiling, rising our shoulders and moving our hands. We know that birds and animals use∧whole vocabulary of songs, sounds, and movements. Bees dance their signals, fly in certain patterns that tells other bees where to find nectar (花蜜) for honey. So why shouldn’t trees have ways of sending messages?

Well，I agree that it's difficult to choose our future occupation as there are a lot of different jobs．However，I wouldn't like to follow in my parents' footsteps as I'm not interested in their professions．I've asked my parents for advice and they believe I must choose my career according to my preferences．

As for me，I enjoy travelling and I want to see the world．So I'd rather be engaged in tourism﹣related occupations but I haven't made the final choice yet．
