On the field he’s the graceful, creative, and spectacularly skillful star of both Brazil’s national team and one of soccer’s wealthiest, most ambitious clubs. In early August, the 25-year-old moved from Spain’s FC Barcelona to France’s Paris Saint-Germain in the most expensive soccer deal ever. He’s known simply as Neymar, and he brings fans all over the world to their feet.

But sitting at the piano, he’s Neymar da Silva Santos Junior. That’s his full, given name, and during a June photo shoot inside a crowded studio, it took him several minutes to gather the nerve to try a couple of songs, including the theme from the classic track-and-field film Chariots of Fire.

Neymar left Brazil for Barcelona in 2013 and says, “There was a piano in the house when I moved in!” It was fate. He enjoys being around musicians—there’s video of him playing soccer with Justin Bieber—and he’s even been known to climb onstage during concerts back home.

“I like to get to know people I admire,” he says. “Some of them are athletes, and some of them are singers.”

Maybe someday he’ll be able to play along. Neymar has been using YouTube clips to teach himself piano, and he enjoys a variety of music—from Brazilian country music to Bieber and John Legend. It’s a valuable diversion for someone who’s under a very bright spotlight.

“Sometimes I’m a little active—sometimes I’m quiet. I like to have fun,” he says. “We have only one life, so we have to figure out a way to be happy.” 28. What’s the purpose of paragraph 1? A. I was in the line at Dunkin Donuts. The couple in front of me had ordered their food and stepped to the side. I walked to order mine. Quick and simple. Then I noticed a young man. I could tell he was not having the best of luck and it showed on his face. He walked in carrying his belongings in a torn plastic bag. The couple ahead of me turned, looked, and then turned away. The lady grabbed her purse tighter and her husband quickly stood in front of her.

I moved over so he could order. He looked at the board, checked his pockets and didn’t seem to have enough for anything. So, he turned around and walked out. I picked up my coffee and followed him out. He had gone maybe five paces when I shouted, “Hey! Do you want a donut?” A little embarrassed, he said, “I don’t have any money. I told him to come on back in. As we approached the counter the couple who were still inside looked shocked and confused. We approached the cashier and I said, “What kind do you want?” He whispered, “Jelly.” I said, “Go ahead. Tell her what you want.”

“Jelly donut please,” he said. The cashier looked at me and said, “Is that it?” I looked at him. “Do you want anything else?” “Can I have a coffee?” he asked me. I said, “Yes. Tell her.” He did. The total came to $2. 30, which is small change compared to what the typical person spends in a day. But to him it made a great difference.

I walked out and the couple were outside talking. The lady whispered to me, “I am glad you did that—before he tried to rob the place for a donut.” I stopped, looked at her, and said, “Are you a Christian?” She said, “Of course!” I said, “Are you sure? As you look back to your childhood days, do you remember the time when you and your parents played games together? 36 Those family games can be regarded as one of the best parts in one’s childhood.

People used to think of different kinds of family games for they are inexpensive entertainments and simple ways to make every member of the family enjoy the time. 37 Fewer and fewer parents have time to play games with their kids, and then kids always play computer or cell phone games alone.

38 Kids can express their ideas and show the changes of their emotions during the process of family games. Family games help them practise and develop skills: working in teams, following rules and accepting failure. Besides, playing with family members also helps kids build good relationships. However, opportunities of playing family games have become fewer and fewer. 39 So family games have largely disappeared, even in the low grades.

But it is of great importance that kids have proper playtime every day with their family. When you’re busy, you can take advantage of daily routines to play with your kids. For example, you can play a guessing game with your kids when you are making breakfast or when you are taking them to school. 40 Don’t forget that your kids always need your love and need to play with you.

A. When you have more time, you can create some new family games. B. Kids have to take part in many extra classes after school.

C. But now, those kinds of games are likely what memories are made of. D. Around the world, kids have one thing in common: loving to play games. E. I still remember the time when I played cards with my parents.

F. Passing time through games with kids can create a lot of fun.
