may/might用于正式场合,语气委婉;might 比may更为客气。 不管是肯定回答还是否定回答,都不可以用could或might作答。 May/might也可以用于if条件句中表示征求听话人的许可。 (3) may/might, can/could表示可能 可能性的表示:用may/might表示事实上的可能性;can/could表示从理论或习惯推测动作或状态有产生的可能。 可能性的否定:may/might not表示某动作或状态可能不会发生或存在;can’t/couldn’t表示某动作或状态不可能会发生或存在。 注意:在具有否定意义的句子中表示“不可能”仍用can/could. 用于询问是否有可能性;在疑问句中通常用can/could,也可以用might,但一般情况下不用may来询问可能性。 Step II Exercise The listening comprehensive and vocabulary & structure exercises.
