Step 1 : Read these words

1. Ask some students read the words and then check the words 2. Spell some words Step 2 : New lesson

Explain some usage of them.

1. offer v.(主动)提出(愿意做某事);提议;给予;提供 n.出价,建议 (1)offer sb.sth.=offer sth.to sb.提供给某人某物 (2)make an offer (of) 提议;出价;提供

E.g.They offered him a very good job but he turned it down.(译) ______________________________________________ 2. respect vt.遵守,尊重 n.尊重;尊敬;注意;考虑;方面 show/have respect for.... 尊重.....

With/in respect of/to 至于,关于,就......而言 E.g. Guo jingjing showed great respect for her coach. _________________________________________ 3. apply vi.申请;vt.利用,运用

apply作“向某人或某公司申请”讲时后面跟to,如果申请某个职位或工作用for. be applied to选用于,应用于;施加于;用来表示“与......接触”。 E.g.我打算应聘数学老师工作。

require sth.of sb. 向某人要求某事

require sb.to do sth.=require that sb.(should) do sth. 要求某人干某事 E.g.那个女孩向张靓颖要了一张亲笔签名的照片。 __________________________________________ 5. demand n.&vt. 要求;需要

demand sth.of/from sb. 向某人要求某事 In demand 需求 on demand 一经要求

E.g.They demanded that the books______to the library at once. A.return B.should retutn

6. suffer vt.遭受,经历,忍受; vi.受痛苦,受损害

suffer damage/loss 遭受损坏/损失 suffer for (it) (因此)而吃苦头

suffer from..... 患...病;因...而遭受痛苦 sufferer n. 受苦/难者;受害者;患者

suffering n. [肉体或精神上的]痛苦(的经验),困难(的经历) (介词填空)

E.g.His grandfather is suffering_______cancer.

He made a rash decision and now he is suffering______it. 7. have an effect on 对....产生影响

have no/little/much/a great effect on/upon对........没有/几乎没有/有很大/有重大影响 E.g.这场大雪对高速公路的交通产生巨大影响。 ____________________________________ 8. in response to 作为......的回应

E.g. They made a quick_____to my inquiry. A.responsible B.response C.responsibility D.responsive 9. in pareicular 特别,尤其,特殊地

in every particular/all particulars 在每个/所有细节上

10. take up 站好位置以备;开始从事,开始承担;占去(时间或空间);继续讲/做 take...for granted 想当然,认为.....是当然的 take notice of 注意到

take over 接管;控制;接住 take charge of 负责

take in 欺骗;吸收;理解

E.g.After he retired from office,Rogers______painting for a while,but soon lost interest. A.took up B.saved up
