【探秘】 hope意为“希望”，后可接动词不定式或宾语从句。如： Mary hopes to visit Yunnan this summer vacation. I hope (that) I shall see her again.

2. 【重点句子】 For your next vacation, why not consider visiting Paris? 【探秘】 consider表示“考虑”时，后常接名词、动词的-ing形式、疑问词 + 动词不定式或从句作宾语。如：

We’ll consider your advice.

We are considering going back to our hometown for summer vacation. Have you considered how to get there? Have you considered how we should get there? 【拓展】 consider表示“认为”时，后常接“宾语 + 宾语补足语”的复合结构或that从句。如：

Do you consider him honest? （形容词作宾语补足语）

Sally considers me to be her best friend. （动词不定式作宾语补足语） I consider that he will come back soon. （that从句作宾语）

3. 【重点句子】 In general, though, France is quite an expensive place. 【探秘】 quite作副词，意为“相当，非常”，修饰名词时常用的结构为：quite a(n) + 形容词 + 单数名词。

The school provides breakfast for the children. / The school provides the children with breakfast.

He offered us some useful advice. / He offered some useful advice to us. 2. 【重点句子】 … we don’t mind how far we have to go.

【探秘】 下划线句子是一个宾语从句，作mind的宾语，how far为宾语从句的连接词。在宾语从句中，用陈述句语序。又如：

They want to know what they can do for us. He asked his father how it happened.

【探秘】 be away (from …) (for…) 意为“离开（某地）（多久）”，表示离开的状态，这种状态可延续一段时间，而leave表示离开的动作，为短暂性动词，不能与段时间连用。如：

They left this morning. The Smiths have been away for two hours.

Ann has been away from the city since six months ago. 【拓展】 英语中常用的短暂性动词与延续性动词转换如下：

borrow → keep buy → have die → be dead begin / start → be on arrive / get to → be here / there join → be in / be a member of

【探秘】 句中的so和so that意为“为了，以便”，作连词，引导的状语从句表示目的。又如：

They are trying to save much money so they can afford a house. Please bring it nearer so that I can see it clearly.

【探秘】 下划线句子是一个非限制性定语从句（用逗号和前面的句子隔开），先行词是survey。定语从句中的take part与介词in构成固定短语take part in (参加……)，in被提到了关系代词which的前面。又如：

The program reminds me of Mr Green, from whom I have learned a lot.

【探秘】 be willing to do …“乐意做……”，willing是形容词，意为“自愿的，乐意的”。如：
