I plan to study for the Bioengineering in the Northwestern University in America which last for two years. Because I believe my condition and qualification are suitable for the courses requirements. Matriculated in The Northwestern University smoothly has proved the university also believes in my ability of completing my study without difficulties.

Moreover, all of my accomplishments in the field of Clinical medical within 2 year would be my good preparation for my further study. I am very confident that my experience would help me succeed in my post-graduate study. To study Bioengineering needs solid English foundation. Although I have been keeping learning English these years and already have a very good English foundation, I still reckon that my English will be improved if I pay much attention to learn it in an English speaking country. Therefore, I prepare to complete half a year's English courses before my study of master courses and take TOLFW in America as well. Then, I will study specialized curriculums on preschool education.

Firstly， I cannot distinguish nasal sounds from non-nasals very well。They sound exactly the same in my dialect. Thus, I had a hard time telling “night” from “light” at the very beginning.

Secondly，My poor memory also added to the difficulties when I decided to enlarge my vocabulary. English words were so elusive that I could only remember them for a while.

Meth to resolve：

In order to tell the slight difference between nasal sounds and non-nasals, I forced myself to speak mandarin every day. Whenever I started to speak English, I reminded myself the difference between ―night‖ and ―light‖.

As for my wretched memory, I gave up mechanical memorization and tried many other new ways. At last I found a most efficient way for me: memorizing English words by their stems and affixes. This is how I have overcome some difficulties in learning English.

Besides, I found it is a perfect way to learn English by watching English DVD movies. Watching English DVD movies is a very effective method of learning English. I learnt English at college at home. As a natural result of insufficient English speaking environment, my speaking and listening abilities were not developed satisfactorily, although my reading and writing abilities were quite all right.
