2.能够读懂有关“描述车祸”的文章,并能够向他人介绍自己所见或听到的交通事故。

思路一:本课的教学内容是冀教版九年级英语第三单元的第14课,主要以“车祸发生”为题,利用多媒体展示“车祸”的图片导入新课,通过小组合作,讨论三个问题,激发学生的学习兴趣,把学生带入课文的情境之中。

思路二:本课的教学内容是冀教版九年级英语第三单元的第14课,主要以“车祸发生”为题,通过师生互动,讨论Think About It中的问题来导入新课,锻炼学生的口语交际能力,通过小组合作探究,找出重点短语及重点句型,共同解决疑难,使学生获得成功的喜悦与满足感。

教师在课前设计教学PPT,准备录音机和磁带,多媒体等。

StepⅠ.Lead in

Leading in 【情景1】

T:Hello,boys and girls.Today we are going to learn Lesson 14. Show students some pictures and then ask some questions.

Divide students into small groups(4~6 students).Tell them that there are many accidents in the world every day and many people are injured or killed in the accidents.Ask these groups to discuss the following questions.

(1)What can you see in the pictures? (2)What might have happened to the drivers? (3)What should you do if you see an accident?

【Keys】 (1)We can see trucks and motor bikes. (2)The drivers were badly hurt or killed. (3)We should call 122 or 120 at once.

T:OK.Let’s look at Lesson 14.This lesson we will learn a car accident.Are you ready?Go! [设计意图] 通过多媒体展示图片直接导入与本课有关的话题,帮助学生尽快融入情景之中,为文章的学习奠定基础。

Leading in 【情景2】

T:Good morning/afternoon,class.Today we will start a new lesson.Who can tell me the title of Lesson 14?

S1:I can.The title is“Accidents Happen”.

T:That’s right.What is an accident?What does“accidents happen”mean?

S2:An accident is some unfortunate event that occurs unexpectedly and usually results in some injury or damage.

T:Right.Is there a way for us to prevent or stop accidents from happening?

S3:Yes.If we are careful and do things safely,then we can help stop accidents from happening. T:That’s right.For example,what do we need to do to stay safe when we cross the street?

S4:We should look left and right before we cross the street to make sure it is safe. T:Very good.But sometimes,even if we are safe and careful,accidents can still happen.And sometimes people get hurt in an accident.What should you do when you see someone badly hurt in an accident?

S5:We should try to help him/her or call someone who can help,like the police or an ambulance. S6:We should call 120 or 122.

T:Well done.That’s exactly right.Now let’s learn Lesson 14.

[设计意图] 通过师生互动交流,谈论Think About It中的问题导入新课,利用对话将学生带入情境,锻炼学生的口语表达能力,同时也培养了学生独立解决问题的能力。

StepⅡ.Presentation

The teacher shows the new words on the screen.Ask students to try to read these words.The students follow the teacher three times.Then give the students four or five minutes to memorize the new words.

[设计意图] 呈现本课中出现的词汇,领着学生们朗读并记忆,让学生们了解并记忆重点词汇,为阅读扫清障碍。

StepⅢ.Reading

1.Read the text aloud.

T:Boys and girls,it’s our reading time.Please read after the video and you should pay more attention to your pronunciation.Try your best to imitate,clear? [设计意图] 让学生大声朗读课文,模仿语音和语调。 2.Read and match.

(1)Show Let’s Do It!No. 1 on PPT.

(2)Ask the students to read the lesson again and complete the exercise with a partner. (3)Check and discuss the answers.

(4)Then have the students draw a picture to go with the report in pairs. (5)Ask the pairs to present their drawing to the class. [设计意图] 让学生阅读课文,小组合作完成,培养学生的合作能力。 3.Read the text and find out main phrases and sentences. Main phrases:

·I wanted to stop her from running after the ball,but she didn’t hear me. ·He stopped traffic on the road until the ambulance came. ·Then the ambulance took both students to the hospital.

·Doctors say she can expect to return to school in about a week.

☆教材解读☆ 1.Thirteen-year-old Ann Brown was hit by a car at 15 Park Road. 本句运用了一般过去时的被动语态,其形式为“was/were+及物动词的过去分词”。 2.She and her brother,James,were on their way to an early basketball practice. on the/one’way to意为“去??的路上”,to遇到副词要省略。 3.We didn’t want to be late for practice. be late for?意为“迟到”。for后接名词或代词,若接动词要用动名词形式。 4.Ann dropped her basketball,and it rolled onto the street. drop在这里为及物动词,意为“(使)落下,投下”。drop也可用作不及物动词,意为“掉下,滴下,落下”。 【辨析】 drop,fall (1)drop意为“落下,掉下”,表示人或物从高处掉到低处。也可意为“放弃”,还可表示“由于疲劳而倒下”。 (2)fall意为“落下”,也可指人或物从高处掉到低处。还可表示“跌倒”或“被打败,沦陷”。 5.She raced to get it. race在本句中为不及物动词,意为“逃跑,疾走”。 6.Mrs. Andrews,who was walking several steps behind the two students,saw it happen. 本句含有一个由who引导的非限制性定语从句,saw it happen句式为see sb. do sth.,表示“看见某人做某事”。 7.And the street was icy—the car couldn’t stop in time. in time意为“及时”,表示情况恰到好处。 【拓展】 on time意为“准时,按时”。 8.I shouted to the girl. shout意为“大喊(大叫)”,常作不及物动词,与介词to,at或for连用。shout to和shout at意思相近,shout at含有不礼貌的意味,意为“对??大声喊”。 9.I wanted to stop her from running after the ball,but she didn’t hear me. ◆“stop sb./sth. +from doing sth.”结构意为“阻止某人/某物做某事”,相当于keep?from doing sth.或prevent?from doing sth.,除由keep构成的短语外,其余两个短语中的from均可省略。 ◆run after意为“追逐,追赶”。 10.He stopped traffic on the road until the ambulance came. until可用作介词或连词,意为“到??时,直到??为止”。until作连词时,引导时间状语从句,用法如下: (1)如果主句中的谓语动词是非延续性动词,应用“not?until?”结构,意为“直到??才??”。 (2)如果主句中的谓语动词是延续性动词,那么谓语动词用肯定式或否定式,它们所表述的意思有所不同。 ①如果谓语动词为肯定式,则until意为“到??时候为止”。 ②如果谓语动词为否定式,则until意为“到??时候才??”,即“在??以前不??”。 11.Then the ambulance took both students to the hospital. 本句中的both为形容词,意为“两个的,两者的”。 【拓展】 both还可作代词,意为“两者,双方”。both?and?意为“??和??都??”。 12.Doctors say she can expect to return to school in about a week. ◆expect为及物动词,意为“期望,料想”,常用表达有:expect to do sth.期望做某事;expect sb. to do sth.期望某人做某事;expect sth.期望某物。 ◆return to意为“回到(某地),返回”,相当于go/come/get back to someplace,但return不能与back连用,因为return已含有back之意了。 【拓展】 return还有“归还”之意,相当于give back,同样不与副词back连用。“归还某人某物”可表达为:return sth. to sb.。 [设计意图] 对文中的重难点句型进行讲解,帮助学生明确语言点,为课文的理解清除障碍。

StepⅣ.Acting out

Divide students into small groups(4~5 students).Ask them to discuss and decide on an accident to present in their role-play.First,the group will need to decide what happens in the accident.Then they should decide what roles need to be played and assign roles to their members.For example,in a motorbike accident,the five roles might be two victims,a witness,a doctor and a reporter. The teacher goes from group to group encouraging students to discuss their role-play in English as much as possible.Ask them questions to help them make up their dialogues.The role-play doesn’t need to be long,but all members must participate.

[设计意图] 学生经过课文的学习,已经明确了一个事故的情景,让他们分角色表演一下,可以锻炼他们的口语表达能力。
