主谓一致 2015.8

主谓一致是指句子的主语和谓语动词在人称和数上保持一致。主谓一致主要有以下几种形式：

1. 动词不定式、动名词和主语从句作主语时，谓语动词用单数。

Reading often means learning.

2.one,every,each,everybody,everyone,oneof,no one,nothing,nobody,someone,somebody,

either,neither等作主语或修饰主语时，谓语动词用单数。 Neither of the girls likes sports.(= Neither girl likes sports.)

Either of the streets leads to the downtown. (= Either street leads to the downtown.)

2. 表国家、机构、组织、事件、书名等专有名词作主语时，谓语动词用单

数。

One Thousand and One Nights tells people lots of mysterious folk tales. The United Nations is an international organization.

3. a portion of, a series of, the number of , the average of等与名次构成的短

语作主语时，谓语动词用单数。

A series of high technology products has been laid out in the exhibition. The average of the students going to university each year is about 500. 5. a lot of, most of, half of, two-thirds of, eighty percent of, some of, none

of, all of, the rest of ----作主语，谓语动词的单复数由其后的名次来决定。

The rest of the money has been sent to the earth-stricken area.

The rest of the newly-bought books have been placed on the shelves of the

library.

6. 主语后接as well as, together with, along with, with, including, rather than,

in addition to, accompanied by, more than, no less than, as much as等引导的词组时，句子谓语动词的单复数形式由其前面的主语决定。 Petroleum, along with fuel gas , has recently risen in price. It is you, rather than he, that are to blame for the accident.

The mayor , accompanied by the leaders of different departments, was present at the opening ceremony .

7. 表示时间、金钱、距离、体积、重量、面积、数字等的词语作主语时，

如其意指总量，应看作单数，谓语动词用单数；如其意指“多少数量”则应看作复数，谓语用复数。 Four weeks is a short period of time.

8. the+形容词/过去分词/ 现在分词表示一类人，如the young, the wounded,

the injured, the living,等作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

On one hand, the young consider the old conservative. On the other hand, the old consider the young inexperienced.

9．And连接两个并列主语，在意义上指同一人、同一物、同一事、同一概念时，谓语用单数；若指两个不同的人或物时，谓语用复数。 War and peace is a constant theme in history. A knife and fork is placed on the table.

The professor and organizer is in charge of the scientific research. The professor and the scientist are in charge of the scientific research. 9. 集体名词如family,class,team,club,government,committee等作主语时，若

10. cattle,people,police作主语时，谓语一般用复数形式。

11. many a / more than one +可数名词单数，表示“不止一个---”，谓语用单数。

Many a student / More than one student has made such a foolish mistake. * More students than one have made such a foolish mistake.

11. every/each/no + n.(单) +every/each/no +n.(单) 作主语，谓语动词仍用单

数形式。

No boy and no girl has participated in such a significant speech competition. 12. One and a half apples was left on the plate. 13. Books of this kind are of no help to you.

14. When and where to go for the on-salary holiday has not yet been decided. 15. Five and /plus six is /makes/equals eleven. Eight minus three isfive.

Three times/multiplied five is fifteen. Ten divided by two is five.
