When we were young, we had dreams and expectations. We imagine things, and we keep
thinking about what we want to be, what we want to do, what makes us proud and happy and what we will become.
We grew up, and things seemed like having its own way. We accept our success or failures and we move on. The rapid change, the need to do the urgent things, the work, the pressure and the failures, all kill part of our visions.
Things have changed, but they cannot really take away the dreams. We still have to dream on, to visualize our desires, our wants and our vision of our future, even when we are considered too old for such things.
Colonel Sanders started his business when he was sixty, and started the whole successful KFC business. The main thing is not the age, whether being too old, or too young, but it is the desire to dream on, and the courage to realize it.
Vivid imagination, taking it to sleep, thinking constantly about it, talking about it, planning it, adding all the spices to our dreams will make us a bit closer to the realization of our dreams.
The ability to dream on is one of the fine qualities of human race that other species do not
possess. So dream on, and put a deadline: make it a giant dream, a tiny one, a newfound one, a hobby-related one, a change of life one, or just whatever... . just continue to dream oix Then, just go and do it!
29. What is the main reason for the change of our visions according to the text? A Our increasing age. B. The change of real life C. The lack of experience. D. Our negative attitude to life
30. The underlined word \ A imagine B. quit C. break D. obey
31. What is the difference mentioned between human beings and other species in the text? A The way to make fire. B. The ability to dream on
C. The power to overcome difficulty.
D. The ability to think about past failures. D
Like many kids, Caitlyn Snavely, 11, has enjoyed days off from school because of heavy snowfall. \ TFK But Caitlyn now has less play time on snow days. In her school district, and in a growing number of others around the country, classes continue even if there is a storm
Caitlyn attends Delphi Community Elementary School. Two years ago, her school district
adopted an \policy for snow days. Students must log in to their classes from home
and work on assignments. Teachers are also logged in and available to answer questions. Some teachers create and post videos to guide e-lessons. \ many different things we can do,\
The district provides a computer to any student who needs one. If there is a power outage
or a problem connecting to the Internet, students have three days to turn in their assignment。 Districts in states such as Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia have a similar policy. One reason is to prevent students from falling behind in their studies, Another is to keep schools from having to make up days they lose because of extreme weather. Redeeming (弥补) days extend the school year. For many schools, e-learning days count as regular school
days. Last year, seven of Delphi's 180 school days were e-learning days.
