As we all know,most people of us know about the world by reading or reading.Some people believe that reading is a critical part of learning and growth.But others disagree with it.They think that they learn best from first-hand and concrete experiences.Maybe they are right in some ways.Yet I don't think so.I have been thinking both reading and doing are important,and they exist side by side and play a part together.We learn by reading and practicing.

Finding the right book at the right time can make us know the world.And everything becomes possible.But if you only read and don't practice,everything can become impossible.The world has been always changing.It changes all the time.If you are only reading,you are just a dreamer.Of course,you can learn by doing to get the experience.But you don't know anything before you do,so you need a lot time to achieve it.However life is short,do you have a lot of time to do?Now,we know that reading or doing is not the best way to learn.But when they get together,we can get the best result.We can correct the wrong thing from reading by doing when we learn.And when we do we can use the experience from reading.

So reading and doing exist side by side and play a part together.We learn by reading and practicing.

Reading books plays an important part in the character development and personal growth. As far as I'm concerned, reading is better than practicing.

First of all, reading can broaden our horizons. As we all know, books reveal to mysterious wonderland in which we will obtain various experience we would never gain confronting in the real life such as traveling around the globe, interacting with other people's life. We learn to book beyond our immediate surroundings to the horizon and a landscape far away from home.

What's more, reading makes it possible for us to be knowledgeable. China has a proverb that knowledge makes a gentleman. We are stimulated to use our brain to seek out many mystical things while reading. Reflecting the other lives we will meet once we begin to read has a deep influence on the formation of correct outlook on life, value, world view. In the meanwhile, reading provides us with the suitable way to catch other knowledge and deal with problems.

In a word, people can't live without books. As an undergraduate, we should learn to be avid and omnivorous readers so as to become prodigious readers. Remember not to put all the energy spent on professional textbook but to leave some time to read various books. So reading is more important than practice.
