一、Teaching aims: (一)Knowledge and skills:
1. Be able to master the key words and expressions. stress, waste, provide, anyway, fair, unfair, drop, ill, neighbor, since, develop, in order to, depend on, take care of, spend...on...,get into, as a result, fall ill, keep it clean and tidy, a waste of time, there is no need for….to...,it is not enough to, the earlier...the better, mind doing.
2. Develop students’ reading and writing skills. Learn how to debate and show their own opinions. Interview their friends, teachers or parents about their opinions about kids doing chores and take notes.
(二)Process and method: Do some reading and writing practice.
(三)Moral object: To encourage Ss to share the housework with their mothers. To encourage Ss to show their ideas when they have some problems. To make Ss learn to be polite, love doing housework. To make Ss have a good living habit.
二、Teaching key and difficult points: Learn and review some important phrases and target languages. Review how to make polite requests how to ask permissions politely. Q:Do you do chores at home?
1.2 Some Ss tell us what chores they did last night. 2. Reading Practice 2.1 Pre-reading Guide Ss to discuss:

Ask Ss to skim the letters. Which one agrees and which one disagrees?

3. Homework: polish your opinions and try to memorize the following points. Language points:
1.in order to意为“为了”引导目的状语从句,可放句首或句中。常用结构: in order to + 动词原形 否定形式:in order not to + 动词原形 eg:为了赶上其他同学,那个女孩学习更加努力了。 up with the others the girl works even harder.

2.be always doing 意为 “总是做某事”表厌恶,不满的情绪。 3. have no idea 意为“不知道,不了解”相当于I don’t know. eg: 我不知道他们什么时候去长城。

词修饰,但可用good 修饰。
take good care of 意为“仔细照顾”,后面可接名词或代词做宾语。 eg: 好好照顾自己 ,不久你就会觉得好多了。

此处waste 用作名词,意为“浪费”,用于固定结构“a waste of time”,意为“浪费时间”。waste 还可作形容词“无用的,浪费的 ”, 动词“浪费”讲。 eg: 玩电脑游戏浪费时间 。 . 6.these days 意为“如今,现在;目前”,相当于nowadays . 7. It is the parents’ job to provide a clean and comfortable…(P22)
provide 此处为及物动词,意为“提供,供给”。主要结构有:provide sth.for sb.或provide sb. with sth. 意为“为某人提供某物”或“供给某人某物”。 eg: 国家供给学生课本。

孩子们越早学会独立,对他们的将来就越好。
【小结】the+比较级,the+比较级”意为“越……越……”,表示一方的程度随着另一方的变化而变化。

点拨1:spend... on sth. 在某事上花费...... 区别spend/pay/cost/take 花费 (1)spend→spent→spent v 花费,主语是人 ◆ 人+ spend +时间/钱+on sth./
人+spend +时间/钱+(in)doing sth◆spend on= pay for 支付

(2) pay →paid →paid v 支付,主语是人 ◆人+ pay + 钱+for sth. I pay 10 yuan for the book.我花了10元买这本书。 (3) cost→ cost→ cost v 花费,主语是某物或某事 ◆事物+ cost+ sb. +钱 某物花费某人多少钱
A new computer costs me a lot of money.一台新电脑花了我很多钱。 (4)take→took → taken v 花费
◆It takes /took sb. some time to do sth. 做某事花费某人多长时间 It takes him 3 hours to do his homework.做作业花费了他3个小时。
