Companies like Airbnb are helping people look for cheap ways to travel. Its website allows people to rent out (出租) their rooms or apartments in over 190 countries.

Created by three young American men, Airbnb is a good example of the sharing economy (经济). How does Airbnb work? Hosts post (发布) information about their rooms or apartments, like locations, prices, descriptions and pictures on the website. Guests can go to the website and find their favorite place to stay. Users post their opinions on their stay, so people know whether a place is good or not.

A man in New York named Jonathan Powley even rents out his taxi for $22 a night through Airbnb. Powley took out the car seats and changed the inside to make it look more welcoming. He keeps it clean and puts flowers in it every day. He provides snacks and tells guests where they can go and shower.

But Airbnb does have some problems. Sometimes the room or apartment you live in is not as nice as it looks like online. Also, hosts sometimes get mad when they get home and see it's a complete mess.

The number of Airbnb users in China has greatly increased in the past year. Local home-rental websites such as xiaozhu.com have also joined the competition. 根据材料内容选择最佳答案。

You probably see a lot of things made of plastic, like bottles and bags, every day. What happens when that plastic gets thrown away? Scientists say much of it ends up in oceans and causes problems for creatures (生物) like fish and birds.

“Plastic puts ocean creatures in danger,” says Allison Schutes of the Ocean Conservancy. That's a group that works to protect the world's oceans.

A recent study shows that each minute, enough plastic reaches the ocean to fill up one garbage truck! That same study predicts that by the year 2050, our oceans will have more plastic than fish.

All that plastic is bad news for ocean life. Some ocean creatures die when they get tangled (使缠结) in pieces of plastic. Others accidentally eat it and die, too.

Most scientists say taking out all the plastic that's already in the ocean would be impossible. Instead, they say the best way is to prevent more plastic from getting there.

Many groups are already taking action. They organize cleanups on beaches to pick up litter before it reaches the ocean. ▲ , volunteers from the Ocean Conservancy collected more than 16 million pounds of it last year!

Experts also encourage people to use less plastic. Many cities and towns in America have banned plastic shopping bags. Experts also suggest that people drink out of reusable bottles and try reusable shopping bags.

“These seem like small things,” says Schutes, “but they can help make a big difference.” 根据材料内容选择最佳答案。

When Ana Dodson was 11 years old, she traveled to Peru. She went on more than just a vacation. She was visiting her native country.

Ana was born in Peru, but she was adopted (领养) by an American family and grew up in the United States.

While in Peru, Ana wanted to know what her life could have been like if she had not been adopted. She visited several orphanages (孤儿院), including one in the hills of Cuzco, near her birthplace.

“The orphanage was really cold and dry,” Ana said. “The paint was falling off ... The girls were in poor health.”

When Ana returned home, she kept thinking of the orphanage in Cuzco. “I really couldn't get the girls out of my mind, and I really wanted to do something ... because I could have been one of those girls in that orphanage.”

Ana decided to start a group called Peruvian Hearts to help. Her goal was to provide orphans in Peru with education, clothing and food. In the first two years, Peruvian Hearts raised about $18,000 for the orphanage. The group also bought a chicken coop (鸡舍) so the girls can eat fresh eggs.

Ana's efforts have been noticed. She won a Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes. The prize is given to kids and teens who make a difference. Ana says any kid can do what she did. “Really believe in yourself, and follow your heart,” she says. 根据材料内容简要回答下列问题。 61. Where did Ana Dodson grow up?
