The two maps illustrate the changes of a rectangular island whose length is approximately/about 1,500 meters before and after the tourism construction.

In the past, it was a desolate and uninhabited/unpopulated island (总括性的话)。There were several trees in both east and west and on the far west of the island was a beach.

The island, however, is changed completely after the construction compared that before the development. Now it can be accessed by boats through a pier on the south seashore. In the center, there is a reception hall surrounded by a vehicle track, and behind it is a restaurant. On the west and east sides of the reception are two accommodation zones which include dozens of cabins (which is)linked by the newly-built footpath. Following the footpath, visitors can reach the same beach area，and near the beach a swimming zone has been set out for the tourists. It also can be seen from the second map that the east part of that island remains almost unchanged.

To conclude, the island has been transformed from a desolate place to a great holiday-making resort.

The three maps illustrate what the village of Kelsbey looks like in 1780, 1860 and 2000. It can be seen from the maps that this village had experienced great changes/

In 1780, Kelsbey had only 100 homes in the north-east, but it had a large expanse/area of woods in eastern part of the village and four lots of farmland in the middle. In the west, there was a river (which was) running from north to south.

The year 1860 saw/witnessed a doubling of the number of homes, but the size of farmland and woods were reduced by half and two thirds respectively./ In the same year, a bridge
