定语从句是历年高考试题的考查热点之一,主要出现在“单项填空”?“完形填空”及“短文改错”等题型中?近几年其考点相对集中地考查非限制性定语从句?关系代词和关系副词的选用?定语从句中主谓语的一致关系、定语从句与相似句式的用法区别以及“介词 + 关系代词”等;预计今后高考英语命题中定语从句将会侧重考查非限制性定语从句(特别是关系代词which与as的选用);“介词 + 关系代词(which, whom等)”;定语从句与相似句式的用法区别等?

考点一、 用that，which引导的定语从句 【名师点睛】

本句中用that引导定语从句，修饰表示时间的短语the minute。

例1、His brother did ______ he could to help him.

A. all which B. all what C. all D. which

解析： 本句中的did是及物动词，用all作did的宾语，all后面省略关系代词that，he could 作为定语修饰all，故选C。

例2、They went on well at first but eventually everything ______ they had worried about happened．

A．which B．what C．that D．when

【解析】考查定语从句。当先行词为代词时关系代词用that而不能用which。2. 通常只用which的情况 1) 关系代词前有介词时?

2) 引导非限制性定语从句时,指物或指代前面整个句子的内容时，只能用which。 3) 先行词指职业而非指人时? 【试题演练】

[解析] B。which引导非限制性定语从句,指代整个句子。在非限制性定语从句中,必须用which引导,而不用that引导。who引导定语从句时,其先行词是表示人的名词。what不用于引导定语从句,而用于引导名词性从句。

二、 用who，whom，whose引导的定语从句 【名师点睛】

“of +whom + the + 名词”。

解析： 第一个选项在定语从句中作主语，不能省略；第二个选项的先行词those是指人的不定代词，通常与who组成“those who”的结构，指代“那些??的人”。故选C。

解析： 选项的先行词“star”指人，且选项在非限制性定语从句中作主语，故选D。 例3、Last month, part of Southeast Asiawas struck by floods, from effects the people are still suffering. A. that B. whose C. those D. what

解析： 选项中作定语的关系代词只有一个，即whose, 相当于the effects of which。故选B。

三、 用where，when，why引导的定语从句 【名师点睛】

【解析】答案D。关系副词where引导定语从句，修饰表示地点的先行词,在定语从句中充当地点状语。根据先行词the farm可确定用where引导定语从句。表示我们工作的那个农场。which引导定语从句,在从句中作主语、宾语、表语或定语。this和that都不能引导定语从句,所以是错误的。

四、 用as引导的定语从句 【名师点睛】

1. 当先行词与as，so，such，the same 连用时，常用关系代词as来引导定语从句。

2. 当引导非限制性定语从句时，指代前面句子的内容时关系代词可用which或as；指代后面句子的内容时只能用as。如：as is known to all， as we all know， as （it） often happens， as has been said before， as was expected， as is said above， as is mentioned above， as is reported等。

【解析】答案D。本题考查在实际语境中对于非限制性定语从句的应用能力。as引导定语从句，在从句中做remember的宾语，指代的是the Beatles“披头士乐队”。what引导名词性从句，在句中做主语宾语或表语，that引导限制性定语从句， how引导名词性从句。
