Analysis of the First Unit

Teaching materials analysis:

本单元Let?s talk部分以“My school”为话题,由寻找教师办公室这一条线索,引出句子:Where?s the teachers? office? It?s on the second floor. The teachers? office is next to the library.然后通过设置带领外宾参加学校这一情景,学习询问学校功能室的一组问答句:Do you have a library? Yes, we do.

Let?s learn部分主要学习学校功能室的英语表达:teachers? office, library, playground, computer room, art room, music room以及楼层的英语表达:first floor, second floor。

教材在Let?s spell 部分,要求学生通过听音、跟读理解字母组合er在末尾时的发音规则并能听、说、读、写单词:water, tiger, sister, computer, dinner。

Let?s do 部分主要学习一些祈使句:Go to the library. Read a book. Go to the teachers? office. Say hello. Go to the playground. Play football. Go to the garden. Water the flowers.

Let?s play, look, ask and answer和Let?s sing部分则通过做游戏、问答、吟唱等形式,让学生在玩中学,在学中玩,从而在轻松愉悦的环境中学习语言、运用语言。

Teaching objectives:

1. Ss will be able to listen, speak, read words and phrases “teachers? office”, “library”, “playground”, “computer room”, “art room”, “music room”, “first floor” and “second floor”.

2. Ss will be able to listen and speak words “next to”, “homework”, “class”, “forty”, and ?way”.

3. Ss will be able to listen, ask and answer “Where is …? It?s on the first/second floor.”, “Is this/that …? Yes, it is./ No, it isn?t.”, “and “Do you have a …”. Meanwhile, they can use these patterns in real situation.

4. Ss will be able to listen to the instruction in “Let?s do” part, e.g.: Go the library, read a book. Go to the teachers? office, say hello. Go to the playground, play football. Go to the garden, water the flowers.

5. Ss will be able to listen and perform the story in “Story time”.

6. Ss will be able to understand and master the pronunciation rule of the letters “er” in words, which says /?/.

7. Ss will be able to simply introduce his own school and learn to love his school by studying this unit.

Key points:

1. Master new words and phrases about the names and locations of school classrooms. 2. Listen and understand instructions in “Let?s do” and do relative actions. Difficult points:

1. Pay attention to the pronunciation of the word “first”, “library” and “next”. 2. Master the pronunciation rule of the letters “er” in words, which says / ? /. Teaching contents:Unit 1: Part A; Part B; Part C Lesson periods:6

T: How many classrooms are there in our school? S: There are … Step 2: Presentation

1. Teach new words: library, teachers? office, first floor, second floor 1) Teach word: library T: What are they? Ss: They?re books.

T: Where are they? They?re in the library. Lib-ra-ry. Chant: Library, library. Go to the library.

Library, library. Read a book. Library, library. Be quiet! Be quiet. Read and practice.

2) Teach word: teachers? office

T: Some people work in this room. This is an office. Read after T and practice one by one.

T: I?m a teacher. I work in the office, too. We call it “teachers? office”. Pay attention to the difference between “?s” and “s?”.

Play a game: opposite tune.

3) Teach phrases: first floor, second floor

T: (point to the floor) This is the “floor”. Our classroom is on the second floor (show Ss two fingers.

Show Ss a picture of the teaching building and explain the meaning of “second floor”. Read the word “second” and the phrase “second floor”.

Then, T point to the first floor and say: This is the first floor. The library is on the first floor.

Teach “first floor” and guide to read one by one. 4) Activity: Happy Shopping Guide.

Show a picture of a Mall. T acts as the customer, Ss as the Shopping Guide. T: Excuse me. Where are the toys? Ss: They are on the second floor. T: I want some chopsticks. Ss: They are on the first floor.

After the example, Ss practice in pair and then perform it. 2. A Let?s learn

1) T points to the picture in A. Let?s learn, and ask: Where?s the library? Guide Ss to answer: It?s on the first floor.

2) Listen to the tape of “A. Let?s learn” and read after it. 3. A Let?s do

1) T says and does actions one by one: Read a book. Say hello. Play football.
