1. Lin often dreamed about the train, and about going to the capital.

dream of/ about + 名词，代词/ V-ing“梦到，梦见，梦想; ( dreamt ,dreamt ) eg. The girl dreamt about her mother last night. The boy dreams about/ of becoming a pilot.

2. Lin nodded, unable to speak. 林点点头，说不出话来。 unable to speak是一个形容词短语，说明点头时的状态。 able 能够的，有能力的, be able to do “能够干某事” ;

unable表示“不能的，不会的”, be unable to do表示“不能做某事”。 例如：Many passengers were unable to reach the lifeboats.

许多乘客无法够到救生艇。

3.With tears in his eyes ,Jin pushed Lin away .金眼里含着泪水，把林推开了。 with + 名词/代词/ doing + 介词短语, 这种复合结构在句中作伴随状语。With 反义without 例如： The other people watched with interest. He said ,without moving his head.

4. sound，noise和voice表示“声音”，但是它们的“声音”不相同。

1) sound“声音”，“响声”讲时，指人或动物发出的声音，或大自然的任何“声音”。 例如：Light travels much faster than sound. 光的传播速度比声音快得多。 2) noise意为“噪音”、“喧闹声”，常指不悦耳、不和谐的嘈杂声。 例如：Don’t make any noise! 别吵闹!

3) voice一般指人的声音，说话、唱歌、谈笑都可用voice。 例如：The girl has a beautiful voice. 那女孩嗓音很美。

They are talking in low voices. 他们正小声交谈。 5. besides /except区别：besides 除…之外（还有，包括）；except 除了…之外（不包括）；except for除了有什么之外（美中不足的），整体上其他都很好 6. I’ve got a long way to go. 我要坐很长时间的火车。

have a long way to go通常表示“（为达到某个目标）仍有许多事要做”。 例如：Li Lin has still got a long way to go before she becomes a successful teacher. 要成为一名成功的教师，李林仍有许多路要走。 【链接中考】
