Task 1（口译任务1）Import and export of Germany

任务要求：下面你将听到一段关于德国的进出口情况的介绍，请在停顿时进行口译。注意：本段讲话中有很多数字（包括基数、序数、百分比等）和国名。这两种信息一般不能仅靠短期记忆，必须得使用笔记（下一课要系统学习）。在笔记时，必须把数字和数字对应的信息记录下来，列举国名的时候要纵向排列，这样才能体现列举的关系。 Related Words and Expressions import/export volume进/出口量 source of import进口来源国 export destination出口目的地国

According to the latest statistic issued by the Bureau of Statistics of Federal Republic of Germany, German import volume from China amounted to 39.9 billion Euros, up by 21.6% in 2005. //

China ranked the fourth in source of import of Germany advanced two places used in 2004. The proportion of import volume from China in the total Germany import volume rose from 5.7% to 6.4%.//

The volume of German export to China amounted to 21.3 billion Euros, up by 1.4%, and China became the eleventh export destination of Germany, dropped one place used in 2004. The export volume of Germany to China in the total export volume dropped from 2.9% to 2.7%. //

The total foreign trading volume of Germany is 1411.8 billion Euros, out of which total import volume is 625.6 billion Euros, up by 8.7% and total export volume is 786.2 billion Euros, up by 7.5%. //

France, Holland and US maintained to be the first three source of import of Germany. //

Britain, Italy, Belgium, Swiss, Spain and Russia were the fifth to tenth source of import of Germany orderly after China.//

France, US, Britain, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Swiss and Poland were the first ten export destinations of Germany.

India is expected to surpass China as the world’s most populated nation. By the mid of the century, the report says, India will have over one and half thousand million citizens, an increase of fifty percent. //

China currently has 1.3 thousand million people. The research says the population should increase about ten percent by 2050.//

Most industrial nations will see a drop in their populations. The only big exception is expected to be the United States. The report says the United States will remain the third biggest nation.//

The population of the US is close to 300 million now. It is expected to reach 420 million. The report says this will be because of immigration and low death rates among babies.//

The study is based on information from governments and the United Nations. Researcher Carl Haub wrote the report. He examined infant death rates, life expectancy, birth rates and the age structure of nations. The study also considered family planning use and, for the first time, rates of AIDS.//

一项新的研究表明，到2050年世界人口将超过90亿。目前世界人口估计在64亿。根据该研究，人口增长最快的将是一些非洲和西亚的发展中国家。//

The GDP of Hubei province this year arrived at 539.591 billion RMB, a rise of 9.3% over the last year in terms of the comparable price. The budgetary revenue amounted to 25.957billion RMB, and the fiscal expenditure was 53.834 billion RMB, 4.29% over the previous year. Expenditures on agriculture and education increased by 14% and 7.9% respectively. //

Total volume of export and import this year reached 5.111 billion US dollars, up 29.2% over the previous year. The export volume added up to 2.656 billion US dollars while the import was 2.455 billion US dollars. //

Foreign direct investment witnessed a steady growth this year with 532 new foreign-funded enterprises approved. The utilized foreign investment was over 2.5 billion US dollars, in which foreign direct investment totaled 1.557 billion US dollars, up 11.1%. //

By the end of the year, the deposit balances in the financial institutions added up to 598.636 billion RMB , a rise of 96.521 billion RMB over the beginning of the year. Various loan balances amounted to 499.955 billion RMB, with an increase of 68.591 billion RMB over the beginning of the year.

From 1978 to last year, a total number of 700,200 Chinese students and scholars studied in 108 countries and regions all over the world, covering almost all disciplines. Both the quantity and scale were unprecedented in the history of China. //

Since 1997, China’s investment in education has maintained a constant and rapid growth with an average annual growth rate of 16.7 percent.//

Last year, the investment in education totaled 548 billion yuan, up 116.4 percent over 1997. The proportion of financial education funds to China’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached 3.41 percent last year. //

Sources say, with the proportion of education funds in central government’s financial expenditure rising 1 percentage point every year from 1998, the allocation on education in the financial budgets of the governments at various levels totaled 311.4 billion yuan last year.//

From 1998 to 2000, the central government had allocated 14.82 billion yuan state treasury bonds to strengthen the educational infrastructure construction and the expansion of higher education enrollment in China’s western regions.//

In addition, during the 10th Five-Year plan period (2001-05), the central and local governments have allocated almost 20 billion yuan, starting the “Project of Compulsory Education in Poverty-stricken Areas”. //

The country with the largest online audience was Germany with 33.2 million unique visitors, followed closely by the U.K. with 32.2 million. Together, they represented 29 percent of the total European online audience.//

Europe’s third largest online country, France, was also its fourth fastest growing, having enjoyed a 14-percent gain and reaching 27.3 million unique visitors in September.//

Internet adoption was highest in the Netherlands, where 82 percent of the country’s population age 15 or older was online in September.//

After the Netherlands, adoption rates were highest in the Nordic region, where the Internet was accessed by 73 percent of the total population of Sweden, 72 percent of Denmark and Norway, and 66 percent of the Finnish population.//

The Nordic region also produced some of the most active online audiences in all of Europe. On average, Internet users in Sweden viewed more pages than any other European country - 3,844 pages per visitor. The country also spent the second longest average period of time on the Internet in September at 30.1 hours per visitor.//

Finland’s online audience viewed the second most number of pages, averaging 3,266 pages per visitor.
