Unit 7 What’s the highest mountain in the world?

What’s the highest mountain in the world?
Qomolangma is the most dangerous mountain in the world. The Himalayas run along the southeast of China. It is also very hard to take in air as you get near the top. 2. Ability goals:
Be able to understand the facts of the worlds and find out the main idea of each paragraph.
Master the usage of the comparative and superlative form of adj. and adv. 3. Emotion goals:
To have students learn to balance the relationship between challenging themselves and protect themselves in the face of challenges. Ⅱ. Teaching Difficulties:
Students are able to retell the passage according to the mind map or by themselves.

Task- based method, communicative method, cooperative method IV. Teaching Process: 1. Duty Report
The student on duty introduces her favorite place to the class and ask them the following questions. (1) Which is my favorite place? (2) How high is Chogry?
(3) Where does the climbers who reached the top of Chogry from? 2. Lead in.
(1) Ask them Chogry is the second highest mountain in the world and which one is the higest.
(2) Watch a video about Qomolangma and ask Ss what they can see in the video and what they think of it. 3. Presentation. (1) Fast reading
① Read the passage quickly and answer the following questions. ? Where is Qomolangma? Where is the Himalayas? ? How high is it?
② Read the passage again and finish the match in 3a.
(2)Careful Reading- (Group-work)
Read the first paragraph and fill in the blanks in the mind map. Read the second paragraph and finish the table about the achievements. Read the third paragraph and finish the mind map. 4.Practice
Retell the whole passage to partners according to the mind map. 5.Production
See a video of the dangers in the process of mountain climbing, discuss within a group about “ Do you want to be like Edmund Hillary or Junko Tabei? Why or why not?”
Each group has a presenter to share opinions with the class. 6 Summary
