Plan 1

Age Level - Ages15-16

Ability Level - Intermediate-level beginners

Objective

1.Learn words: vocation, lying, beach, group, beach, volleyball, surprised, heat, relaxed, winter, scarf, everyone, man; additional words: sandstorm, typhoon, tsunami 2. Learn about different activities in different types of weather. 3.Learn to love the nature and protect the environment.

Warm up - 5 minutes 1.Greetings. 2.Singing songs.

Review - 10 minutes

Show a weather map of China and get students to ask and answer in pairs about the different kinds of weather in some cities.

Presentation of New Material - 15 minutes

1. Ask students: How do you know the weather beforehand? Get answers like: From the radio/121/the TV/the mobile phone/the internet.

2. Look at a paragraph, and ask students to find out what the show is (CCTV’s Around the World show) and where the reporter is (in Australia) .Ask them to tell what they know about Australia. 3. Ask students to work alone. Underline the things that people are doing and circle the words that describe the weather. They may follow the 2 examples have done for them. Check the answers.

4. Draw attention to the pictures of France and the descriptions below. Ask students to work alone .Have students fill in the blanks. Check the answers.

Pronunciation - 5 minutes

Separate students into groups and let them discuss about the weather within the group. Self- check about pronunciation by asking and answering.

Grammar - 5 minutes

1. Make a survey. Find out what activities people will do on certain days.

2. Ask all the students: When is the best time to your town/city? Answers may use: The best time to visit my town/city is in...because...

Closing - 5 minutes

Show pictures of the nature disasters: sandstorm, typhoon and tsunami. Tell students: If we have such natural disasters, we could not enjoy the lives any longer. But what can we do with this?

Plan 2

Age Level - Ages15-16

Ability Level - Intermediate-level beginners

Objective

1. Learn the words: cook, study and sentence structures: What are you/ they doing? We/ They are...What is he/she doing? He/ She is...Yes/No questions and short answers.

2. Ask and answer the Present Progressive Tense, and describe the activities people are doing. 3.Cultural awareness: The inner feelings of the students are motivated by understanding and comparing different people’s life in different areas.

Warm up - 5 minutes

Daily greetings: How are you today? How’s it going? How is the weather? Ask these questions randomly to the students to revise what they learned yesterday.

Review - 10 minutes

1.Point out a conversation in the large picture and ask two students to read it to the class. Practice it in pairs, change some of the words and make it into their own conversations.

2. If students do quite well, show a piece of cartoon of the Snow-white and the seven dwarfs.

Presentation of New Material - 15 minutes

1. After showing the cartoon, ask students: What are they doing? (They are singing and dancing.) Show more pictures with questions: What’s he/she doing? and What are they doing? to get students to practice the tense which is the core grammar of this period. Get students to guess out the word cook by the picture. Choosing the right words and pair work are added as the reinforcements. 2.Let’s see what Joe’s families are doing. Point to the 4 pictures (The girl in the second picture is talking on the phone with the first speaker.). Ask students tell each person is doing in each picture. More attentions should be paid to the correct use of the Present Progressive Tense. Use every hint to finish 2b.

3. Play the tape for students to have a check. One more time listening to finish 2a. Teach: What does your father do? He is a cook.. Compare cook with cooker 4. With the whole picture, get some students to tell the story of it.

Pronunciation - 5 minutes

1. Play the tape for another time. Then do a memory test. Ask students: What’s Uncle Joe/Jeff/Mary/Aunt Sarah doing? What are Scott and Lucy doing? Is Jeff watching TV? Etc. 2. Guessing game. Guess the activities people are doing.

Grammar - 5 minutes

1. Ask 2 students to read the sentences loudly and make interpretations.

2. Some oral exercises about the core materials in Section A.

Closing - 5 minutes

1. Copy the new words 4 times each.

2. Summarize the usages of how in questions.

3.Watch a weather report on TV and take down some notes about the weather forecast for tomorrow, and then write a report about it.

Plan 3

Age Level - Ages15-16

Ability Level - Intermediate-level beginners

Objective

By the end of the lesson,students should be able to: 1.say in english the names of animal;

2.ask and answer the question about why do one loves...;

3.know the main feature of animals(pannder,koala,lions,etc. ); 4.have the sence to protect animals and love the nature;

Warm up - 5 minutes

Ask students to name as many animals as they can in English and describe each animal in some way.Then show some pictures of animals that they will learn in the text.And ask them to learn how to say.

Review - 10 minutes

Point to the animals one by one,tell them the feature of the animal and try to remember the name of each animal.Then match the picture to the word.

Presentation of New Material - 15 minutes

1.play the recording of conversation 1b ,and chack the animal learnt in 1a.

2.Pairwork work in pairs ,using the given words and the words in 1a to reproduce the dialog 1c. 3.Call attention to the two blank lines on the left in 2a . Play the tape for the students to listen. Let them write the names of the animals .Then chack the answer . Play the recording again and have students match each animal with an adjective an adjective and correct the answers.

4.Play the recording for the students and let them complete the conversation base on what have said in the conversition.

Pronunciation - 5 minutes

Ask 2 students to read the conversation in 2c to the class .Let them make a similar conversation.

Grammar - 5 minutes

1.Review the grammar box and point out the word order used in questions.

2.Point out the words very and kind of , then students to say the different between them.

Closing - 5 minutes

Preparing students for the next class.

Plan 4

Age Level - Ages15-16

Ability Level - Intermediate-level beginners

Objective

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. say in English the names of jobs.

2. ask and answer questions about ones jobs;

3. use interview strategies to find out information and take notes. 4. present the interview results confidently to other students. 5. learn to be a good listener and brave to ask questions in English

Warm up - 5 minutes

Review - 10 minutes

1.Students write the names of jobs they already know on paper. 2.Students draw pictures of jobs, and share them in groups. 3.Students volunteer to present their pictures and words. 4. Teacher summarizes, and write the words on the blackboard.

Presentation of New Material - 15 minutes

1. use pictures and actions to introduce the words. Use structure: What does he/she do? He/She is a...

2. Students learn to say the words with the help of pictures.

3.pair-work. One does the actions, the other guesses the names of the jobs.

Pronunciation - 5 minutes

Task : use what is learned to do an interview 1.Group work:An interview 2.Volunteers to present the result
