The 17th College Students Sports Meeting of Hebei Province successfully took a bow in which the aerobics dancing team from NCBUCT achieved marvelous attainment. Xiao Na，the captain of the team, an English major, shared the story behind it with us.

Pioneer：Tell us the awards you have got.

Xiao Na：We were arranged in the team A during this sports meeting. Those participants came from all the universities and colleges of Hebei province. We finally won the 7th position in group games, and the 6th in the mixed-double group.

Pioneer：What impressed you most during your preparation and the competition?

Xiao Na: The most impressive part should be the pre-preparation. We had to do over-intensive warming-up and training and run at least 10 circles on the ground every day to accumulate strength. The most difficult and painful part was doing the splits. At the very beginning, three teammates pressed down to assist finishing the action and they swallowed their sweat and persisted in the training.

Pioneer：How do you deal with your nervousness in the games？

Xiao Na：After we saw good performance of our competitors, we felt it was full of challenge. We began to do some warm-up exercise, and the coach also gave us some instructions. We encouraged each other to release the tension to some extent. Finally，the nervousness faded away as the music went on and we staged the performance.

Pioneer：As we all know，physical exercise serves for delight. Would you like to share with us the pleasure from competitive sports? Xiao Na: Actually the whole preparation injected much pleasure and vigor into my life. The compact training availed us of reorganizing my time. I really gained a lot. 健美操之花

第十七届河北省大学生运动会于今年5月底成功落下帷幕，我校健美操代表队取得了骄人的成绩。来自英语1001班的健美操队队长肖娜，和大家分享了他们的故事。

先锋报：先说说你们赢得的成绩吧？ 肖娜：我们是本届大学生运动会健美操比赛的甲组，对手来自河北省各所本科高校。我们最后获得了团体赛第七名和混合双人操第六名的好成绩。

先锋报：那么你认为在整个备战和比赛过程中给你留下印象最深的事是什么？

肖娜：印象最深的应该就是前期备战过程。我们每天要做很多热身和高强度的训练，仅仅跑步这一项任务就要每天至少10圈。最难、最痛苦的应该是劈叉训练。起初，有3个队友压在身上来帮助做这个动作，队员们咽下了痛苦的泪水，坚持训练。

先锋报：赛中你是怎样克服紧张情绪的？ 肖娜：当看到他们的实力和技巧时，着实让我们捏了把汗。但是教练辅导队员们做了些放松运动，加上队友间的相互鼓励，让比赛的凝重气氛得到了些许的缓解。最后站上台，音乐响起的那一刻紧张情绪也随之消失了。

先锋报：我们都知道，体育怡情，分享一下竞技体育给你带来的乐趣吧？

肖娜：说起来，整个备战过程为我的生活增添了很多乐趣和活力。紧凑的训练安排让我学会了更好地安排好自己的学习时间，生活也充实了许多。训练真的是苦与痛，汗与泪交织的过程，但是我们从中收获了坚强不屈的毅力！

我一直认为，教育的首要目的并非仅仅是向人们灌输他人的思想，而是要拓展个

人的才智，使其能够在任何生活环境中应付自如。考研可以让你学到很多东西。

第一，形成完备的知识体系。本科教育是一种大锅饭的教育方式，同专业的人都学同样的课程，学的内容 也是最基本最简单的概念和原理。研究生教育和本科教育的不同之处就在于每个人都有自己的研究方向，这就让你有充足的时间来对自己研究领域进行针对性的学习，形成体系。就像我现在所学的英语笔译，在大学期间我就对笔译比较感兴趣，赵波老师每次布置的翻译作业我都会认真完成，渐渐地体会到了遣词造句带给我的极大乐趣。

第二，提高科研能力。无论你是工科的还是文科的学生，在毕业工作之后总会遇到各种各样的问题，这些问题有些就需要你去检索资料、组织调研，直至找到解决问题的方法，部分问题可能还要做出详实的报告。研究生教育就可以提高你的科研能力。老师每周都会给我们布置大量的任务，我们要经常检索自己研究方向的中外文文献，查阅相关的书籍，与导师进行交流。其实，在这个过程中，本来就在很多方面对自己有所提高，如阅读中外文文献，对自己的阅读水平是个提高，文献阅读过程中可以学习到不同的理论和见解，与导师的交流中提高自己的思考能力和沟通能力，这些对于以后的工作大有裨益。

第三，开阔视野。读研期间，我读了不少书籍，也听过不少名师讲座，在不知不觉中提高自己。对以后的工作有了更加清晰的认识。而我认为最重要的是，良好的阅读习惯是快乐之源，而培养良好的阅读习惯则是自我完善之旅，它潜移默化地影响着一个人性格与行为，更新人的思想，升华人的品性。曾有一个贵族轻侮地问一位哲人：“你从事哲学能挣多少钱？”哲人的回答是：“我拥有了头脑和整个世界。”

第四，提高实践能力。从书本中获得的间接经验，尽管宝贵，但实质上仍是被动接受；而从生活实践中获得的直接经验才是更值得珍视的智慧。除了学习理论知识，学校还经常帮我们联系实践项目，如上学期我们参与了中国国际旅游交易会的翻译任务，协助老师完成翻译项目。为此，我们经常工作到深夜，忙碌并充实着。

第五，增强团队合作意识。每一个人都不能单独存在，都是这个相互依赖、相互联系的社会系统中不可或缺的组成部分。读研并不是“两耳不闻窗外事，一心只读圣贤书”，在我周围，我没发现任何一个研究生读成了书呆子，相反，大家思维活跃，给我们的团队合作提供了很好的条件，因为我们经常会涉及一些课题项目，在做这些课题时，大家既有分工，又有合作，并且要不断地进行调研和讨论，也作过做过不少访谈，在做课题的过程中，大家都认识到团队合作对于我们课题成功的重要性。

最后，我想说，翻译也有苦恼。鲁迅先生在《且介亭杂文二集》中说过：“譬如一个名词或动词，写不出，创作时候可以回避，翻译上却不成，也还得想，一直弄到头昏眼花，好像在脑子里面摸一个急于要开箱子的钥匙，却没有。”译者这时的确感到心急如焚，焦头烂额，可是一旦找到合适的译文，就会感到格外痛快。

读研会让你意识到自己的能力正不断提高，你将为此欣喜愉悦，自立自强的力量也会与日俱增。自尊越强就 越能抵御低俗享乐的诱惑，你将学会以一种全新的视角来看待世人的言行举止。从教育中获益，获益终身！

Supernatural Power of the Vietnamese Girl

An 11-year-old little girl from Vietnam is endowed with the mystical energy which can set the things around her on fire.

According to the local media in Vietnam on May 5th, 2012, the little girl almost burnt up her house. As her parents said that the girl didn't play with any burning objects, and that the fire was probably caused by the mysterious supernatural power in her body. It sounded a little bit unbelievable, but it was not the first time that such a thing had happened.

Her parents said that a month ago they often encountered short circuit, hence, they had begun to pay attention to the fact that their daughter seemed to have super power. From then on, this energy got out of control. Fire occurred anywhere at any time in the house. What's more, once even the toilet lid was ablaze. The more horrible thing was that they took their daughter to other places, things like that happened. For example, they once went to the beach for vacation. Unfortunately, the hotel where they lived for a few days was on fire again. The girl said in an interview that sometimes her clothes might catch fire for some(某种) inexplicably reason.

After the fire hazard on 12th of the month, the whole family rearranged the home circuit and moved all of the electrical appliances and the furniture away from their daughter. They kept an eye on the little girl round the clock every day, and the sleeping place was equipped with a bucket of water and wet towel in case of any fire accidents. Her parents even sent her to Ho Chi Minh City to receive scientific detection. Scientists found the girl's right cerebral hemisphere abnormal after a series of tests. Now the little girl has aroused close attention in Vietnam and the world. Therefore, a R&D team composed of experts from different fields is conducting a scale of studies about her, including physics, medicine, psychology, culture, sociology and so on.

越南：会着火的超能力女孩

越南11岁小女孩有神秘能量可让周围的事物着火。

根据越南当地媒体介绍在本月12日，住在胡志明市新平区的一名小女孩几乎把她家的第三层烧得一干二净。据她的父母讲这个小女孩并没有接触任何着火的物体，火灾是由女孩体内一股神秘的超能量引起。这听起来似乎有点不可思议，不过这样的事情已经不是第一次发生了。

她的父母称早在一个月之前家里的电路反复短路时他们就已经开始注意到女儿似乎拥有超能力，此后这个能量便一发不可收拾家里到处都能着火，甚至有一次连马桶盖都烧着了。而更让人恐怖的是他们把女儿带到其他地方亦是如此，比如有一次他们到海滩度假，他们住的宾馆就失火了。这个小女孩在接受采访时称有的时候她的衣服甚至都会莫名其妙地着火。

12日火灾发生后，这个家庭就重新布置家里的电路，并把所有的电器和家具都搬的远离他们的女儿。每周七天每天24小时都有人守在女儿身边，睡觉的地方放着装满水的水桶和湿毛巾防止火灾再次发生。他们甚至把女儿送到胡志明市接受科学家们的检测，科学家们通过一系列的测试发现小女孩的右脑似乎有点异常。如今该小女孩已经引起了越南乃至世界的关注，一个由多领域的专家组成的科研团队正围绕着她进行一系列的研究，包括物理、医学、心理学、文化和社会学等等。（中文来自网络资源）

2012年10月 第17期 第4版 新的开始A New Start Reflection of My New Life With the expectation of the new college life, I entered my university. As I arrived at our school, I was shocked. The school is so big that I almost lose my way. There stand so many tall trees and beautiful flowers, which makes the campus more attractive. In a word, it is so fantastic.

In my mind, a college is a paradise, where we can do whatever we want. But now, I know I’m wrong. We still have to work hard; otherwise we will fail in the examinations. Besides, we should arrange our free time reasonably and do the right things at the right time.

In order to get good results, I must work hard. Meanwhile, I will make full use of my spare time to enrich my college life. All in all, I believe where there is a will, there is a way.
