How Should We Treat Foreign Festivals
Nowadays, western festivals become more and more popular in China. But whether we should celebrate these festivals has aroused a heated discussion.
Some who agree to celebrate western festivals regard it a precious opportunity for the Chinese to learn more about western cultures. However, others hold a different view. They are worried whether these foreign festivals will replace the Chinese traditional festivals, which have a bad effect on the cultural inheritance.
In my opinion, every coin has two sides. Since the globalization is impossible to avoid this mix of cultures and traditions, we should preserve the traditional Chinese culture as well as welcome Western ones. We students undertake the responsibility to carry on our traditions, therefore, we have to respect them and cherish them.
