WHENEVER you are traveling and have the good fortune to arrive at your destination in one piece, I think that you have to tell people your trip was fine.

I had a fine trip last week.

I went an hour north to a speaking engagement(约会). Fifteen minutes out of town my vehicle began to shake. The engine light began flashing wildly. Fortunately, I have several friends who lived not far away from the next exit. I called one and asked if I could borrow her vehicle for the afternoon.

What would Barbie look if she were average?

According to US artist Nickolay Lamm, she would be brunette(深褐色头发的白人女子) with a rounded face and a much thicker waist.

Frustrated with the unrealistic beauty standards of Barbie and her friends, Lamm took data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about an average 19-year-old American woman, who is about 163cm tall, with a 84-cm waist. With those measurements, Lamm created a doll.

The doll‘s name is Lammily, and her tagline is ―Average is beautiful‖.

―I think a realistic-size doll is important because when I look at current dolls on the market, they all look like supermodels,‖ the artist told AFP. ―I just had the impression that the wall of supermodels suggests that something is wrong with you if you don‘t look like one.
