This is a Shanghai based position with local pay, from HP laserjet printer operations. This position will expose the candidate to the WW GBU experience as well as factory experience. It is a mixture of technical and project management role.

The Product Completion Engineer is the liaison between the different GBU teams and the regional engineering partners. They support NPIs and current products.

The PCE engages the R&D and manufacturing teams early in the development cycle to influence the design through the DFx, DfM feedbacks. Develops and maintains documentations used for WW manufacturing like, internal product manufacturing specs, product completion document, troubleshooting guides, quality control plans.

The PCE also manages the change notification and ensures implementation of test codes to the WW factories. He will work closely with the test engineer to ensure test codes are up to date for manufacturing use.

They work with GBU to ensure quality issues get addressed. Coordinates product holds and reworks WW. Responsible for consolidation of the rework costs.

The PCE team also works on the deployment of GBU or companywide initiatives such as label standards, warranty, regulatory, etc.

Due to the uniqueness of our supply chain, the PCE is also the factory product engineer, looking after the CM factory.

In an NPI, the PCE is the HP lead for the CM factory to coordinate for the NPI builds: material readiness, BOM updated, documents in place, build plans etc. He will interface with a program manager from the CM factory.

The PCE will drive the CM factory for continuous improvement (output, line efficiency, cycle time, DL optimization). Other performance metrics include dppm and yield. Will need to connect to database to pull data for analysis and reporting.

Needs to be flexible to work around different time zones and be able to effectively lead WW implementation of projects and/or programs.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Industrial)

Have worked in high volume box build (operator assembly, testing and finish good shipment) type of factories before

Minimum of 4+ years of related experience, candidate will be considered for a senior position if more.

Person must be flexible to meet with teams working on different time zones (Europe, Asia and Americas).

Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL), mainly by extracting data for analysis and reporting

using software like Brio Query and MS Query.

Strong analytic skills (troubleshooting, issue identification etc)

Experience in writing procedural documents (e.g. work instructions) for the factories and various performance reports (e.g. monthly yield, dppm reports with analysis).

Fluency in English and Chinese. Experience in MNC/mostly English speaking environment advantageous.

1. During the design stage of HP Commercial & Netbook new model, host the quality meeting with RD&PE and customer to review all the quality issues happened in trial run stage, keep the product in good quality and make sure the new model can launch to mass production smoothly. 2.
