Passage 2
At 8:30 this morning, Mr. Peter King, a clerk in the Kentish Bank, discovered that the bank had been robbed during the weekend. “All the money in the safe (保险库) — 30,000 pounds — has been stolen,” the manager said.
For the past eight years, Mr. Peter King has been the first to open the door of the Kentish Bank. His job is to make sure everything is in place by the time everyone arrives around 8:45 a.m. But when he got there this morning, Mr. King had the feeling that “something was wrong”.
