During the time I studied English at my college, I was very frustrated by my learning experience. There were many students who spoke much better than I did. Before I had the time to create a complete sentence, they would just answer the teacher's question in a natural way as if without much thinking. I began to feel ashamed and intimidated. So, I was afraid to speak, and I did not make much progress at all. In contrast, things were different when I started learning English online. I always had enough time to think through my idea and develop beautiful sentences before I created a reply and posted it on the computer. I didn't feel intimidated by students who could speak faster or better than me. As a result I made a lot of progress with my English.

When I started to learn English at my junior middle school, I had a kind and patient teacher. She was very encouraging to all of her students. Because of her encouragement, I answered every question I could eagerly, never worrying much about making mistakes. I was at the top of my class for two years. In contrast, the method by which I was taught English in senior middle school was not well suited to my learning style. My new teacher quickly punished those who gave wrong answers. Whenever we answered incorrectly, she would shout at us. As a result I lost my desire and confidence and did not make any progress in learning.
