What will happen if robots could have their own kid? It’s a question from a group of scientists in Europe. Their new great project (项目)plans to have smarter robots by reproducing (繁殖).
The idea may sound impossible, but they have already shown it can be true. Now, two “robot parents” have had their first “robot baby”.
In this project, robots are put into a place where they live, work, and reproduce. The experts help them to move in front of the red light (光线). They can talk with others. Once they want to reproduce, the robots will send their genomes (基因组)through the Wi-Fi.
“We have two robots that meet and reproduce, just as in the animal kingdom, and this results in a baby,” says a worker from the project.
The robots live, work, and reproduce in an “Arena” where they are able to choose his or her lover.
Robots are changing the world we live in today. Japan leads the world in making robots. In this country, many robots work in life. So making smarter robots is very important.

One day, while my friend Jenny and I were travelling through Germany, we were very hungry. But we didn’t have much money. We decided to stop at a village market to get something to eat. I took some cookies and went to the front counter (柜台)to check. Near the counter, I saw some packaged(包装好的)cookies in a large box. They looked good and were a lot cheaper than the cookies I had in my hand, so I took them instead.
Then we left the store and looked for a place to eat our sandwiches and the cookies. We found a place under a tree and we ate our sandwiches first, and then the cookies. We thought the cookies were great.
“Let’s get some cookies again,” I said. “They’re cheap and they really taste good.” Jenny could read some German, but I couldn’t. I gave the package to her, so she could look for the brand (商标)name. She looked at it carefully and then she started to laugh.
“Why are you laughing? I asked.
“Because they’re dogs’ cookies!” she said. 根据短文内容,回答下列问题。 1. Where did the story happen?
