一、课题: Unit 7 Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes Section A 1a-2d 二、教学目的 (一)能力目标

在本课结束时,学生能够:

1. 谈论青少年应该或不应该被允许做什么。Teenagers should(not) be allowed to do

2. 了解家规、班规、校规,并通过谈论家规、班规和校规,充分掌握含有情态动词的被动语态的用法.

3. 能运用所学知识练习被动语态的句式。能用所学句型进行交际练习。 (二)目标语言

1. 熟练掌握下列词汇:license, safty, smoke, part-time, pierce, earring, flash

2. 熟练掌握下列短语: be allowed to do sth, driver’s license, No way, be worried about, part-time job, get one’s ears pierced, need to do, take photos, be excited about 3. 掌握下列句型:

…sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive. Teenagers should not be allowed o smoke.

-I don’t think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive. -I agree. They aren’t serious enough. 三、课型:新授课、听说课

四、教学方法:谈话法、讨论法、 五、教具:黑板、电脑、音响

六、教学重点:掌握SectionA 1a-2d所有重点单词,短语和句型;围绕“Sb should(not) be allowed to do sth”这个话题,运用所学短语进行讨论。 七、教学难点:含有情态动词的被动语态的运用及构成。 八、教学过程:

Step 1导入(2分钟)

Ask students: Do your parents allow you to watch TV? Yes, they do. Present the sentence: You are allowed to watch TV. Teach “allow sb to do sth “

“be (not) allowed to do sth” “should (not)be allowed to do sth” Present more sentence.

Do your parents allow you to exercise? Yes, they do. You are allowed to exercise.

Do your parents allow you to smoke? No, they don’t. You are not allowed to smoke.

Do your parents allow you to drive? No, they don’t. You are not allowed to drive.

Do your parents allow you to choose your own clothes? No, they don’t. You should be allowed to choose your own clothes.

Do your parents allow you to get your ear pierced? No, they don’t. You should not be allowed to get yo8r ear pierced. Step 2: 听力前活动(8分钟) 1. Obey the school rules!

T: As a teenager, you have a lot of rules at school. Can you write down some of them? Students should be allowed to speak English loudly.

Students shouldn’t be allowed to sleep in class. Students shouldn’t be allowed to make noises.

Students shouldn’t be allowed to throw the rubbish in the classroom. Students shouldn’t be allowed to get to class late. T Explain:

allow sb to do sth 允许某人做某事 be allowed to do sth被允许做某事

should be allowed to do sth应该被允许做某事 2. work on 1a.

T: 请大家阅览1a中的图片,了解其内容。

Ss:图片中是母女对话。女儿问母亲是否能和他的朋友约翰一起去购物中心,应为约翰刚考取驾照。而母亲不允许,说青少年不应该给允许开车。她很担心安全问题。

T: You have a point. Now read the statements below. Circle A for agree or D for disagree. Students present their answers. Step 3 听力活动(5分钟)

1. T:Now we’ll listen to the tape for the first time. Please listen carefully and circle T for true or F for false in 1b .

2. check the answers.

Step 4 对话练习(12分钟)

T: Look at the statements in la and make conversations like 1c . A: I don't think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive. B: I agree. They aren't serious enough. Teacher explains languages: 1. No way!

表“不可能;决不;不行;没门”,多用于口语中,表示某人不可能做某事或某事不可能发生。e.g. -Can I leave now? – No way! 2. the shopping center 购物中心 3. driver’s license 驾驶执照

4. sixteen-year-olds =sixteen-year-old boys and girls=sixteen – year- old kids

它相当于一个名词。

“一个16岁青少年的表达方式”:

a kid of sixteen, a kid of sixteen years old, a sixteen-year-old kid

【辨析】(1)sixteen-year-olds “16岁的孩子 名词”,在“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”结构中,形容词后加-s表示一类人或物。e.g. Sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to go out at night.

(2)sixteen-year-old“16岁的”,是由“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”构成的复合形容词,在句中通常作前置定语,修饰名词。 e.g. My pen pal is a sixteen-year-old boy.

(3)sixteen years old “16岁”,用来描述人的年龄,常在句中用作表语。 e.g. My brother is sixteen years old.

5. allow vt. 允许;准许,常用于下列结构中: (1)allow sb. to do sth. 允许某人做某事

e.g. The teacher allowed him to go into the classroom. (2)allow doing sth. 允许做某事

e.g. We don’t allow smoking in public places.

(3)be (not) allowed to do sth. 不被允许某人做某事 e.g. Passengers are not allowed to smoke.

5. be worried about your safety 担心你们的安全

(1)worried adj. “担心的;烦恼的;焦虑的”;短语be worried about “为…担心” e.g. Don’t be so worried. Everything will be fine.

【拓展】worry作vi.时搭配:worry about,be worried about可与互换。 e.g. Don’t worry about me.

(2)safety n. “安全,安全性”,常用短语:in safty “处于安全状态” e.g. I will answer for her safety. The children are now in safety. 【拓展】safety, safe, safely对应反义词

n.: safety-danger; adj. : safe-dangerous; adv.: safely-dangerously 6. part-time jobs 兼职工作

(1)part-time是合成形容词,意为 “兼职的;业余的;非全日制的”,其反义词是full-time,意为“全职的;全日制的”。

e.g. In America many students are part-time workers.

(2)job cn. 工作,指零散的,具体的工作。近义词:work,un.,常用短语:at work,表“在工作”。

e.g. He looked for work for several months and at last he found a job most suitable for him. 7. get their ears pierced 穿他们的耳朵

get作使役动词,相当于make或have,表“使,让”。“get/have+宾语+过去分词”表“使

某事被做”或 “让某人做某事”。

e.g. You had better go and get your hair cut. It’s too long.

【拓展】get作使役动词用于get sb. to do sth.,表“使某人做某事”。 E.g. I can’t get him to change his idea. 8. their own clothes 他们自己的衣服 (1)choose vt. 后接n./pron.作宾语。 e.g. He chose a good job last year. 【拓展】choose适用结构:

1) choose to do: e.g. He chose to go there by air.

2) Choose+特殊疑问词+to do e.g. You’ll have to choose which one to buy.

(2)own此处用作形容词,表“自己的;本人的”,常用在形容词性物主代词或所有格之后,以加强语气。还可用作代词,表“属于自己的东西”。常用于结构“one’s own +sth.”表示“某人自己的东西”,相当于“sth.+of one’s own”。 e.g. This is your own duty. Don’t be angry with others. I want to have a big house of my own. 9. serious enough 足够严肃

Enough adv. 足够地,修饰adj. 或adv.时要后置。 E.g. You don’t work hard enough.

【拓展】enough还可以用作形容词,意为“足够的;充足的”。修饰名词时,一般放在名词

之前,有时放后面。

e.g. There will be enough money for us.

There will be time enough to relax for us. Step 5 听力活动work on 2a (9分钟)

T: What does Molly think of Kathy’s statements? Listen and circle A for Agree,

D for Disagree or DK for Doesn’t Know. Check the answers.(1. D 2.A 3. DK 4. D 5. A)

T: Listen 2b again. What are Kathy’s and Molly’s reasons? Number their reasons in

the correct order.

T: Make a list of things teenagers should and should not be allowed to do. Discuss your list with your partner.

e.g. A: Do you think teenagers should...? B: Yes, I .../No, I... Step 7角色扮演(2分钟)

T: Read the conversation in 2d and answer the questions: 1) Where do they go for school trip?

2) Does Mr. Smith allow students to take photos? 3) How to take photos?

T: I will choose two or three pairs of students to role-play the conversation. Step 8 Summarize Language points(5分钟) 1. He should stop wearing that silly earring. (1) stop doing sth. 停止做某事 e.g. Let’s stop talking.

【辨析】stop doing sth. 与stop to do sth.

stop doing sth.: 指停止正在做的事情。stop to do sth. :指停止手头所做的事情去做另一件事情。

e.g. The two girls stopped talking when they saw me. I stopped to talk to him when I saw him. (2) silly adj. 愚蠢的;傻的;可笑的。 e.g. It was silly of you to trust him. 【辨析】silly, foolish, stupid Silly 愚蠢的,可笑的,傻的,指头脑简单,傻头傻脑 Foolish 愚蠢的,傻的,指人时强调缺乏智慧或判断力,也可指行动的愚蠢可笑。 Stupid 笨的,傻的,强调生性迟钝或反应慢,有时是中性词 e.g. How can you explain such a silly remark? But why are we so foolish? I was surpirsed at his stupid act.

2. be/get excited about 对…感到兴奋,about后接名词,代词,v-ing形式。

excited “兴奋的,激动的”,主语是人;exciting “令人激动的”,主语是物。 e.g. She got excited about it as soon as she heard about the good news. Are you excited about going to Shanghai?

We were very excited when we won the first prize. The football match was very exciting. 3. be going to do表将来= will do 用于将来时

e.g. I am going to visit my grandparents this weekend. 【辨析】 wii 和be going to do

will: (1) 临时性安排;(2) 必然会发生的事情。语气偏重未来。 e.g. I will discuss the plan with my boss next week.

be going to do: (1) 依据观察到的迹象,预测将来会发生的事。(2) 表达想要做某事的意图。语气偏重现在。

Look at the dark clouds. It’s going to rain. I’m never going to buy a mobil phone. 4. allow的用法

1) Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes.
