Unit 1 How do I get to the Forbidden City?

一、教材分析
本模块是初二年级英语(上)第八模块,本模块通过读地图呈现指路及表明具体位置的语言表达方式,阅读课文在呈现这方面语言的同时,向学生介绍了北京的一些名胜古迹。本单元围绕出行旅游为话题,通过大量的语言材料集中展示了问路,指路,对某一区域进行描述,该话题贴近学生的实际生活,有很强的实用性,因此该话题能调动学生学习的积极性,让学生体会到学以致用的喜悦心情。
第一单元以培养学生听说能力为主。通过语境的介绍,学生在warming-up部分,通过完成教材设计的“根据所听到的内容选择与之相对应的图片”,激活学生头脑中相关各种表达方位介词信息,帮助学生进一步理解内容奠定良好的基础。
二、教学目标
1.语言知识目标:(1)学生掌握疑问句和祈使句的朗读,通过问路、指路、对
某一区域进行描述,并掌握正确运用方位介词。
(2)学生能够正确使用下列单词:bank, market, supermarket,
pool, swimming pool, square, left , right , opposite, chairman, between, turn, corner, along, tour, painting, 还要学会新短语或词组,为学生更好掌握方位介词做好准备。
2.语言技能目标:(1)学生能懂对话录音,听懂师生之间根据对话内容所展开
的对话交流。
(2)学生能够理解和掌握指路和问路的语句并能搭配图和文
字。
(3)学生能够根据地图讲清路线、正确描述某个地点的位置。
3.学习策略目标:(1)学生能将语言学习与实际应用结合起来。 (2)学生在使用地图问路和指路应注意礼貌用语。
4.情感教育目标:让学生把所学的知识运用到英语的实践活动之中。培养学生
问路、指路的语言表达能力。使学生爱英语,乐于学英语,享受学习英语的快乐。
三、教学重点、难点
掌握和熟练运用方位介词,让学生在口头和书面熟练表达问路、指路,并提供充足的体验和运用语言的机会。
四、教学方法
多媒体教学,辅助图片使抽象的语言变得直观,为学生正确运用英语进行交际创设情景,实现师生互动,学生之间互动。
五、教学过程及分析
Step 1 Warming-up activities
T: Hello! Boys and girls. Glad to meet you ! Do you like traveling ? Ss: Yes.
T: Where have you been to ? Ok! Who can tell me where you have been to ?
Ss: Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin.
Now let’s watch a cartoon. Can you guess where it is ?
设计意图: 通过与同学打招呼, 拉近与学生的距离, 用学过的现在完成时提问,复习旧知识.通过看卡通片, 引出本课内容,这种方式有趣生动, 很容易吸引学生注意力,激发学生学习的兴趣,
Ss: Beijing
T: Oh, yes. You are very clever. But can you tell me where the dog has been traveled in Beijing ?
Ss: park , restaurant, bookshop 当学生能说出旧单词, 又重放一遍卡通片, 老师引导说出bank, market, supermarket, swimming pool, square . Show the words on the screen at the same time.
Game : who’s fast? Read after the teacher when teacher show the big thumb, but when the teacher stop, who can read them correctly and loudly can win a flag.
设计意图: 学生通过看卡通片, 把要学习的相关地点词汇引出, 从旧单词引出新单词如: bank, market, supermarket, swimming pool, square, 自然而生动. 学生好强好胜, 通过游戏竞赛的形式操练单词,这种学习方式效果好, 有效地提高课堂教学活动.并能培养他们的合作, 竞争的精神.
Step 2 Lead- in
T: Ok, let’s go on watching it . The dog gets in trouble. He can’t find the way to the hotel. What should he do ? He gets the map .But he couldn’t understand Chinese. He is from America. Can you help it ? S: he can ask the policeman.
T: in fact, We may get into trouble when we travel or go to strange place , what can we do if we meet such problem, how to ask for the way to our direction in English ? we will find the answer through learning this lesson. I’m sure you can ask for the way or help the dog get out of trouble
设计意图: 通过卡通人物引出本课的话题问路, 形象生动, 活泼有趣, 营造轻松学习氛围 , 激发学生学习积极性.

Step 3 Listening and reading
T: we watched the cartoon just now. Who can tell me how the dog go to the supermarket(重放刚才的动画)
用此方法指导学生简单描述路线. Turn left, turn right ,go straight ,on the corner of, on the right, on the left, between , go along, opposite.
Game: the teacher give the number , the students will stand up to read the words for many times. Then sit down . which group can read clearly and sit down fast will get the marks.
设计意图: 通用卡通片把复杂的路线简单地呈现给同学们, 学生很容易接受, 自然地导入新内容, 为同学们理解课文内容打下基础.并通过游戏方式操练方位表达词组,为听力清除生词障碍, 进一步培养听和读能力, 为学生口语交际打下基础.
出现几幅图(充分利用课本上第一部分的图)
T: Now look at the picture , listen and match the words and expressions with the pictures. Ask the students to work in pairs to find the places in Activity 1 in your town.
设计意图: 通过听对话选图练习, 进一步巩固复习地点词汇, 让同学们描述周围居住环境, 给学生自由谈论的机会, 激活思维并为下一步学生描述具体地方做准备.
T: Now our old friends , Lingling shows Sally around Beijing. Let’s listen what they are doing and talking about. Find the answers to the questions. (放录音, 让学生听同时思考以下问题) Question :
1. Can you name three places they talk about?
The Great Wall the Forbidden City the Beihai Park 2. Where is the Great Hall of the People ? It is on the left of Tian’anmen Square. 3. How do Sally get to the Forbidden City/
Go straight ahead. It’s opposite Tian’anmen Square.
设计意图: 让学生带着问题听课文, 训练听力并培养对课文整体感知能力,提问检查他们对课文是否理解.
Step 4 Reading
Ask students to read through the conversation following the tape and then translate the sentence.
Put the students into groups of four to read the conversation. Have them repeat it , changing roles.
设计意图: 听完录音, 学生朗诵对话并对课文翻译,遇到难点讲解, 跟读对话, 让学生分角色表演课文对话,增强对课文的理解和掌握,同时纠正发音,完善语音、语调。
Step 5 Role play
Look at the map , find the way from one place to another and write down the directions.
1. Divide the students into several groups to discuss and ask the students to work in pairs to ask and answer, have the pairs do some example for the whole class.
设计意图: 让学生自己画地图并进行角色表演,鼓励学生自主创设情意展开对话和表演,训练学生口头表达能力,巩固学过的问路与指路的表达方式,鼓励学生灵活运用语言,进一步加深对课文的理解,激发学生创造力学习和实践运用。
Step 6 complete the sentences
Work in pairs. Look at the map in Activity again. You’re in Wangfujing Dajie. Ask for and give directions to the other places.
设计意图:通过笔头练习,训练笔头书写能力,巩固学过的问路与指路的表达方式。
Step 6 Summarize
Let the students to say what they learn from this unit and give some advice. 设计意图:让学生自己总结所学新知,老师再对其进行补充,培养学生学会自己总结学习重点,加深对重点、难点的理解和掌握。
Step 7 Homework
Ask the students to draw the map of own home , and introduce several places to the other students.
设计意图:让学生画自己家周边地图,并描述给其它同学几条路线。培养、提高学生的实际运用语言能力。
板书设计:

教学反思:
优点:这节课以动画片的形式导入本课的主题, 形式活泼, 激发学生的学习兴趣, 又以游戏的形式把新词汇掌握,使难记的单词用有趣的激励形式引起学生的学习欲望, 在教学过程中以学生为主体,整个课堂是学生在开口说而不是老师在干巴巴的讲授。尤其是教学的最后一部分,让学生用最熟悉的环境来把本课重点用英语进行讨论,锻炼他们用英文思考的能力,然后把所学语言知识运用到实际生活中去。
缺点:在整个教学环节中,学生听力的训练内容相对较少,练习做得不够多。
