教学过程： 一：明确概念：

省略Ellipsis :为了使话说得简明扼要，英语句子中某个单词、短语甚至从句或主句都可以省去。这种省去句子某些成分而保持句子意思不变的现象，称为省略（ellipsis）

二：合作探究；(教师要求学生，默读所提供的例句，然后思考每组例句所显示的语法规则。分组讨论，然后老师让学生代表说出每一组所包含的语法规则。) (一).简单句中的省略 1. (It) Doesn’t matter. 2. (I) Thank you.

*讨论归纳一：在祈使句中，____语通常被省略。

3.Why (do you) not say hello to him ? 4.What (do you think) about a cup of tea ?

*讨论归纳二：有时句子还可以省略_____语和___语的一部分。

5.–Are you thirsty? – Yes, I am (thirsty). 6.---Where should we go?

---I don’t care (where you go). Anywhere you want. *讨论归纳三：有时还可以省略句子的____语和______语。

（二）.并列句中的省略

1.My brother is a doctor and my sister-in-law (is) a lawyer.

2. When summer comes, the day is getting longer and longer, and the night (is getting) shorter and shorter.

* 讨论归纳四：两个并列句中，后一个分句常省略与前一分句中的_____ _部分 （三）.复合句中的省略

1、主句中有一些成分被省略、而用______或_______来代替. 如：－Are you leaving for Beijing this Sunday? －I think so. (I’m leaving for Beijing this Sunday.)

－It is going to rain, isn’t it? －I hope not. (it is not going to rain.)

这种用法常见的有: __________________________________________________________________等。 即学即用：

We all know (that) the earth runs around the sun.

Mary said (that) she is from American and that she is 16 years old.

*讨论归纳五：宾语从句中常省略连词_______,但当有两个并列的宾语从句时，第______个 that则不能省略。 3.定语从句中的省略

I haven’t read the book (that/ which) you’re reading.

The man (that/ who) your father just talked to is our English teacher, Mr. Smith.

*讨论归纳六：在限制性定语从句中，作_______语的关系代词可以省略。 4.状语从句中的省略

While (he was) waiting for a bus he found his wallet stolen. Unless (he is) invited, he won’t come. I’ll help you if (it is) possible.

讨论归纳七：在以when, while, once引导的时间状语从句及以if, unless引导的条件状语 即学即用 用省略改写下列句子。

1.When ice is heated, ice can be turned into water.

2. While I was walking in the park, I saw my old friend, Mary.

从句中和though, although引导的让步状语从句中，如果主从句的主语一致或从句主语为It，且从句中含有be动词时，从句中可省去___________部分。

（四）不定式中的省略

动词不定式中为了避免重复，省去与前面出现的相同部分，只保留to，但如果在省略的不定式结构中含有be，have, have been时，要保留这些词。 –Are you going there? – Yes, I’d like to (go there).

Attention:使役动词及感官动词后面作宾语补足语的不定式一定要省去to,但在被动语

态中须将to复原。

如：I noticed a man enter the classroom.

A man was noticed to enter the classroom.

--- Well, you ought to have finished the homework. 4. You must not be late and you must not be absent. 5. If it is necessary, we will finish it ahead of time. 6. While he was doing so, he trembled a little.

7. He said that he wouldn't go shopping and that he would go swimming instead. 8. This is the book that I bought yesterday. 二、翻译

1. 必要的时候我会向你求助的。 2. 有可能的话，我会参加会议的。 3.当在中国工作时，Peter交了很多朋友。 4.一旦被专家教过，这个女孩将会很快提高英语。
