My Attitude towards the Recent Debatable Traffic Accident in Chengdu

On May 3rd, a woman driver was beaten by a man driver on the road in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, which has become a hot and debatable topic for people to talk about. When the news first came to people’s ears, they criticized the man driver seriously, however, most people turned to stand with the man and insisted that it was the woman driver’s fault and she did deserve to be beaten few days later. Whose mistake is it on earth? From my perspective, both the two are to be blame.

If the man driver had not beaten the woman driver, there would be no doubt that he was a victim, because it was the woman driver who changed lane illegally and blocked the man’s car. But the man was so annoyed that he beat the woman driver, which is violent, illegal and can cause negative effects to our society. Thus, from this aspect, the man driver is definitely wrong.

Although it seemed that the woman driver was the weak one at first glance since she was beaten badly, she was criticized greatly when people saw the video from the automobile data recorder, which shows that she was extremely crazy in driving which is also against the traffic law. Moreover, she mentioned her harmful and dangerous behavior lightly instead of realizing the mistake that she made when she was interviewed. Besides, it has been checked that she broke the traffic law more than once and had been recorded before. Thus, she is not the one worth sympathy and ought to be blame.

It is not a surprise to witness traffic accidents in the streets, how should this accident be so hot and become the focus of the society? The answers hide behind this phenomenon is simple and complex. Firstly, because woman drivers are road killers, they are easily to be paid attention to. Secondly, in this accident, the woman driver was beaten black and blue by a man driver. We live in a harmonious society, for which violence is a pretty sensitive word in this civilized society. Thirdly, the video from the automobile data recorder presented people a completely different map from their initial one, which aroused their interests to a great extent.

In this ordinary and special car accident, both the woman driver and the man driver should be to blame. The man driver is so bad tempered that he used violence to solve problem as to release his anger. As for the woman driver, she is not a qualified driver, since she drives so poor and has been recorded before. Also, she is really self-centered and has low quality. Living in a comparatively harmonious and civilized society, people should be a little more patient and act more politely.
