Master of Science in Accountancy, Wake Forest University

You want to rise to the top of your field? Choose Wake Forest University. Our Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) (会计硕士) program is one of the largest and most recognized programs of its kind in the U.S. Individual Attention

Small class sizes plus a supportive learning environment ensure every student has access to professors with relevant real-world knowledge. Career Prep

The Center for Market Readiness & Employment offers one-to-one coaching to help you develop a job search plan, polish your résumé and improve your interviewing skills. During twice-yearly ―Meet the Firms‖ events, you‘ll network with leading accounting and financial services firms, building invaluable connections. Valuable Internship Opportunity

A fundamental part of the MSA program is the professional internship (实习), a nine-week paid position that provides hands-on experience. Internships are for those students who enter the MSA program without a post-MSA job offer. Proven Outcomes

We consistently achieve a 100% employment rate and historically high CPA (注册会计师) pass rates. Students typically receive multiple job offers, allowing them to launch careers with competitive salaries at major regional, national and international accounting and finance firms.

―Wake Forest students are exceptional. We are so fortunate to hire these students for their work ethic, career enthusiasm, team focus and their high level of professionalism‖, said Melissa Miller, Campus Development Manager, KPMG International. 56. In modern society, it is usually considered good to be an extroverted(外向的) person. This means that life can be hard for introverted people. Their talents and abilities are often not recognized.

Some people often try to make introverts more outgoing. They think that being an introvert is a problem. But there is nothing wrong about being an introvert. Introverts are not necessarily afraid of meeting and talking to others. They simply prefer to spend time on their own, away from the crowds. They like reading, writing and taking walks in the countryside. But extroverts need other people. If they spend a lot of time on their own, they get bored. They tend to be impulsive and talk a lot.

Our society puts a lot of pressure on people to be extrovert, to be outgoing and self-confident on every occasion. Susan Cain, the author of the book Quiet: The Power of Introverts In a World That Can‘t Stop Talking, has spoken about this problem. ―I was nine years old,‖ Cain says. ―In my suitcase there were lots of books. This seemed normal to me, because in our family we always read a lot. I thought it would be the same at summer camp. But I was wrong. To create camp spirit, all the children had to sing a cheer every morning. I couldn‘t understand why. In the evening, I took out a book from my suitcase. But another girl said, ?why are you being so quiet?‘ The second time I took out a book, the counselor(辅导员) came to see me. She told me to remember the camp spirit and that it was important to be outgoing.‖

At work, extroverts often do well. At job interviews, it is usually good to appear extrovert. It suggests that you will be good at the job. But it is wrong to think that only extroverts are good leaders. Introverts work in different ways to extroverts, but they can still do really great things. Darwin, for example, was a quiet, family man. He often took long walks so that he could think clearly. But Darwin‘s ideas about evolution were revolutionary.

Introverts must understand that it is perfectly okay to be the way they are. It is not necessary to want to be the center of attention. You don‘t have to take part in noisy, social activities if you don‘t want to. And it is not necessary to try to become more outgoing. 58. This sentence ―Introverts are generally misunderstood.‖ should be put at the beginning of Paragraph _________.

A. Two B. Three C. Four D. Five

59. Paragraph 3 is constructed by means of _________.

A. analyzing reasons B. giving examples C. listing arguments D. comparing facts 60. What can we infer from the passage?

A. The talents and abilities of extroverts are usually ignored.

B. Some introverts feel caught between nature and social pressure. C. Only extroverts are good leaders with better interpersonal skills. D. It is necessary for introverts to try to become more outgoing. C

With Apple‘s iPhone 7 and Google‘s new Pixel phones putting such an emphasis on powerful camera technology, smartphone photography is more powerful than ever. And while phones typically have great built-in photography apps, many other options can be

easier or expand your range.

ProCamera is an excellent option for iOS devices. Using this app feels like raising a single-lens reflex camera(单反相机) to your eye. With a few taps on the screen, you can display a grid to help compose a shot properly and a guide to warn if your composition is tilted(倾斜的). You can also control the white balance and bring up a live histogram(直方图) that shows how strong the colors in the final photo will be. There are quick-access buttons to shoot in video, photo, high dynamic range or other modes and there‘s even a bar code scanner option. Most impressive is ProCamera‘s anti-shake feature, which waits for you to stop moving before it activates the shutter. In the settings menu, you can control most of the app‘s features and select how much compression is applied to the final saved images. In other words, the app gives users professional-level control of an image.

Because of its complexity, ProCamera takes a while to get used to, and the exact features depend on which iPhone you have. The app costs $5 and some features, like a low-light mode to help shoot better pictures at night, are upgrades that cost a few dollars each. It‘s definitely worth it.

On Android, one app equivalent to ProCamera is Camera FV-5. This app also feels like using a single-lens reflex camera, with similar manual control. Camera FV-5 includes features like a live histogram, burst-mode shooting, exposure bracketing and time-lapse imagery. It also offers choices over the kind of files it saves to your device, and has a comprehensive settings page. Unlike some other Android camera apps, Camera FV-5 has a professional-looking and easy-to-use interface. It costs $4.

To edit a perfect portrait or landscape photo, Adobe‘s software is the choice of professional photographers. There is a version for mobile devices too — Adobe Photoshop Fix — which lets you heal an image‘s defect, adjust shadow intensity, fix the contrast or add effects. Mastering the features of Photoshop Fix will take time, but your final images don‘t look too artificial with the application of Photoshop Fix. Its interface is sometimes confusing, but the app has built-in help and, best of all, is free for both iOS and Android.

61. What is the author‘s purpose in writing the passage?

A. To introduce some powerful smartphone photography apps. B. To advertise some apps for your smartphone photography. C. To show the features of some built-in apps of photography. D. To promote advanced camera technology of smartphone. 62. What can we learn about ProCamera?

A. It can be a single-lens reflex camera to your eye. B. It can adjust the light effects of the final image.

C. It can be updated automatically upon the purchase. D. It can inform users of images being too complex.

63. The underlined word ―equivalent‖ in Paragraph 4 means _________. A. comparable B. familiar C. relevant D. suited

64. If you want to make your photo true-to-life, you turn to _________. A. anti-shake technology B. Adobe‘s software

C. a live histogram D. built-in help D

In creating A.J. Fikry‘s ordinary-yet-extraordinary life, the author GabielleZevin has thrown every clichés(老生常谈) into the mix. The hero, A.J. Fikry, lost his beloved wife Nic in a road accident. The sales of his bookstore have been decreasing. The enthusiastic new sales representative Amelia won‘t stop annoying him with new books. His rare and very valuable first edition has gone missing. But the unexpected arrival of Maya left in his care brings about a series of events with love and hope to his life.

There are few real surprises in the plot and attentive readers will be able to tell where the story is headed. But that is not the point; the clichés and the predictable plot take nothing away from Zevin‘s work The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry because it‘s how she tells the story that first charms the readers, then holds their attention, making them read the whole book in a single sitting and finally give the book a long hug when they are finished. This book is a love letter to the joys of reading.

Each chapter begins with the title of a short story or a book and a note from A.J. Fikry describing what he likes about it, essentially introducing each character by what they read. The characters are so realistic that it‘s hard not to fall in love with all of them: Maya, ―the fantastic book-worm,‖ Amelia, ―the giantess‖ with questionable taste in fashion, Lambiase, the adorable police chief, and A.J. Fikry, the reluctant hero who hates electronic reading devices that will ―send centuries of a lively culture into what will surely be a rapid decline.‖ The passage of time, race issues, and the bureaucratic argument of children‘s services are all put aside in the telling of this story, not because there‘s anything to hide or because reality is not allowed to interfere, but because the author chooses to focus on the important stuff. For example, it focuses on Lambiase who organizes a reading club for policemen at the book store. His original intention is to help promote business, but over the years he becomes a genuine book-lover, one who tends to always have simple advice for his cynical(愤世嫉俗的) friend, A.J. Fikry. ―Bad timing,‖ Lambiase claims, ―I‘ve been a police officer for twenty years now and I‘ll tell you pretty much every bad thing in life is a result of bad timing, and every good thing is the result of good timing.‖

More than anything else, this novel is not only about the selling of them or the reading of them, but how books and stories become part of our lives, how we find ourselves within what we read and how we carry books with us. It is also about the power of unexpected happiness and always believing that something wonderful is just around the corner. The Late Bloomer is the book within a book which brings together A.J. Fikry and Amelia. It reminds them that life doesn‘t follow a set script, things happen when they are meant to happen, and there is no such thing as ―too late‖ for anything. Life is the big picture. Always look at the big picture. Enjoy it. Don‘t get too concentrated on the details, because it will all be over before you know it. In the long run nobody, not even you, will remember the ordinary details because they are, in the end, quite irrelevant.

A.J. Fikry‘s final words of wisdom to teen-aged Maya convey the same feelings in literary terms: ―We are not quite novels. We are not quite short stories. In the end, we are collected works. We have read enough to know there are no collections where each story
