My mother stopped and raised her head with 44 in her eyes. She didn’t answer immediately. Then she bowed her head and continued to sew the quilt. I was very worried 45 I thought I had hurt her. If life is a quilt, then 48 should be a thread. It can hardly be seen anywhere or anytime, but it’s really there. ”

Once I thought love meant flowers, gifts and sweet kisses. But from this experience, I understand that love is just a thread in the quilt of our life. Love is inside, making 55 strong and warm.

goals like climbing the mountain.” Without the mountain-climbing that we both enjoyed, we couldn’t have enough time to spend together because my father was very busy. I really got a lot from the mountain-climbing. It gave me time to talk with my father and to be in deep thought as well as develop my patience.
Once we climbed a very high mountain. It was so challenging for me because I was only ten years old. During the first few hours of climbing, I enjoyed the flowers and trees, and the birds’ singing. But as time passed, I got a pain in both of my legs. I wanted to stop climbing, but my father said to me, “You can always see a beautiful sky at the top of the mountain, but you can’t see it before you reach the top. Only there can you see all of the nice things, which is just like your life.” 21教育网

I had seen Thomas in the church, but he had left before me and was already at the hotel when I returned. He had found a large book and was busy counting the pages. He seemed to be a person who did not need other people. He was happy on his own. His calmness made me feel calm too. We looked at the book together, and I tried to explain the words in it. We smoked a pipe together, and somehow we became good friends. He gave me his New Zealand head and shared his money. That night, I helped him when he made a biscuit, and he told me his life story

as we sat in bed.
Thomas was born on the island of Rokovoko, which could not be found in any map. His father was a king, and his uncle was an officer. When Thomas was young, a whaling ship(捕鲸船) came to his father’s island. Thomas decided that he wanted to see more of the world. However, the ship would not take him, so he tied himself to it and told the Captain that he would die rather than stay at home. Finally, the captain agreed to take him on board. That’s how he came to Nantucket and then New Bedford. We agreed to go to Nantucket together and try to get work on the same ship.
The next morning was Monday, and I paid the boss. We borrowed a wheelbarrow(独轮车) and started for the ship. People began to see a white man and a black man together. But to me, color doesn’t matter because a white man is only a black man with a coat of white paint. At last,we stood on board of the ship to Nantucket. How good it was to be at sea again! A strong wind blew through our hair, and our noses breathed the salt air. One foolish young man fell overboard, and Thomas jumped into the freezing water to save him. Afterward, all the people called him hero, but he just sat quietly and smoked his pipe. I knew that I had found a wonderful friend.21·世纪*教育网
