Sally and Cindy are college school students who are fond of travelling. Ever since they entered the university, they have always dreamed about travelling together, so they have made up their mind to organize a journey from Kunming, where they study and live, to Dali, where their best friend, Patty, lives, as soon as they graduate this summer. However, unlike other good friends, Sally and Cindy have different views towards the transport and the schedule of the journey. Sally prefers to travel by train which she thinks is cheap and interesting, while Cindy insists that taking the plane should be better because it is faster and safer. Sally knows Cindy so well. She clearly knows that Cindy is so stubborn a girl that it is almost impossible for her to change her mind once she determines something. Just as what Sally has expected, Cindy lists all the possible disadvantages of travelling by train and tries her best to persuade Sally to take the plane instead of the train. Although Cindy is stubborn, Sally also knows she is a reliable partner, so she finally decides to give in.

Section C
Part1: Ask students to read the passage below and finish the questions as fast as they can.
As a traveler on a tight budget, I was pleased to discover Vietnam, especially its central and southern part, a great place for cash-strapped tourists.
I started my 12-day trip in Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon, which is the country’s largest city.
From there I headed to Dalat, a small town in the central highlands set in a park-like environment with French-style villas, lakes, waterfalls, and a cool, mountain-air climate.
After a day and two nights there, I arrived at Nha Trang, a seaside resort in south-central Vietnam where it was warm and sunny. I walked along the sandy beach and swam in the South China Sea for a few days. I did not want to leave.
My next stop was Hoi An, another picturesque riverside town. I spent two days in the town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and had one-night stop in Danang, Vietnam’s fourth largest city about 30 kilometers north of Hoi An. Danang is well-known for its Cham Museum.
I pressed on, stopping next in Hue, Vietnam’s ancient capital, also designated by UNESON as a World Heritage Site. I spent two days strolling around the city before flying back to Saigon.
Throughout my visit, I travelled a lot on “open-tour” buses. They are a unique shuttle system run by cafés, hotels or travel agencies. I booked my first “open-tour” ticket -- for the trip from Saigon to Dalat -- at Kim Café on Pham Ngu Lao Street in Saigon. This district is a haven for budget-conscious travelers; the streets there are lined with inexpensive cafes and accommodation. Kim Café runs the best open-tour operation in the city. It operates networks of shuttle buses running regularly between Saigon and Vietnam’s other major tourist destinations. The bus, filled with foreign backpackers, were convenient, comfortable, cheap and always on time.
( ) 1. What kind of travelers is this passage for?
A. Travelers who don’t need to worry about money. B. Travelers who have plenty of time. C. Travelers who are aware of the cost. D. Travelers who like to travel by bus.
( ) 2. According to the passage, which sentence is NOT true?
