Words about food Aims(课堂目标):
1. Students will be able to read some words about both popular food and some traditional Chinese food.
2. Students will be able to identify the difference between much and many and use them correctly in the sentence structure: How much…? and How many…? In the content of talking about food.
3. Students will be able to read for specific information in the content of three meals a day.
4. Students will be able to talk about three meals a day of their own. Handouts(课堂学生所用资料): Handout 1: for reading

Assumptions about the vocabulary and grammar and solutions(课堂预设及对策):
1. Students may know some western food. but they don’t know the words about some traditional Chinese food. When they are required to talk about their own food, they have to LIE. So in this class, teacher provide students some words about Chinese traditional food. This helps them to express themselves.
2. It’s easy for teacher to explain the difference between How much and How many. But it is not easy for students to understand them. So teacher provide students a chance to find out the difference by themselves. Students will find it easy to use them after they find out the difference by themselves. Teaching procedures(教学步骤): procedures Presentation: 1. Show some words about western food. 2. students give the names of the food. 3. teacher checks the answers by setting an example of the pronunciation of the words. Practice reading: 1. Students read the text and decide the statements are true or false in one and a half minutes. 2. teacher announces the answers. Analysis and practice 1. Students find out the difference between much and many. 2. students finish the exercise while reading the sentences. 3. teacher announces the answers and show them why. Presentation: 1. Show ten traditional Chinese food. Teacher reads them one by one. Students should follow. Practice speaking: 1. Students read the questions and write down their answers. 2. Students ask and answer in pairs, take notes of the partner’s answers. 3. Students hand in the handout. Teacher will check the expressions after class.
