A Word that Has Changed the World-Internet

Good evening,ladies and gentlemen.It is my great honor to stand here to give a speech.First of all,I would like to have a brief self-introduction.My name is Xu Jingwen.I major in English and come from Class 1101.You can also call me Summer,because it is my favourite season and I think the sunshine always makes me energetic.My friends always say that I am a easy-going and open-minded girl.I’m glad to hear that.In my spare time,I like doing sports,such as playing ping-pong or running.I am trying to develop the habit of reading,which benefits me a lot.(翻页)

I would like to begin with a question, what our life will be without the Internet? I think it is hard to answer, because the internet has been an indispensable part of our life, it has changed the way we live, and even changed the world.(翻页)

How the internet changes the world?My opinions are as follows.First,the Internet makes the world more equal.Second,the Internet makes the world more transparent.Third,the Internet makes the world smaller.Last but not least,the Internet always provides us with the latest information.（翻页）

Now,let’s start from the very beginning.Internet makes the world more equal. Any class, gender, racial, religion and other discriminations will be eliminated on-line. With the Internet,everyone can have the equal right to participate in the forum and express their own opinions. Everyone can have the equal right to get access to the plenty of the useful information. What’s more, everyone can also have the equal right to accept the distant-education.(翻页)

Secondly, the Internet makes the world more transparent. Everyone can be the media. They are good at observing and thinking things around them, and then recording things through the words, pictures and videos.Finally, put them on-line. In my opinion, the Internet plays a supervisory role, any political scandal, corruption and other ugly behavior can’t escape eyes of numerous Netizens. (翻页)

What’s more, the Internet makes the world smaller. On one hand, internet has changed our way of making friends. We can make friends with people all over the world in spite of geographical limitation. It is no doubt a fabulous way to establish friendship as well as keeping in touch with acquaintances.We can know the newest updates of our old friends by social network, which is far more vivid, cheaper and more convenient than making phone calls.

On the other hand, internet has changed our way to do business. As we all know, many trades have been done through internet.People negotiate on line, order on line, and even pay on line now. Internet makes it possible for us to trade with foreigners across the ocean even without going out of your own doors. As a result, the world becomes closer through the Internet.(翻页)

Last but not least, internet always provides us with the latest information of the world. Thanks to the internet, what we know now is what is happening around the world. It makes things much easier to keep pace with the world.
