Further Study in China or Overseas?

The argument that further study in China or overseas among graduate students has brought into focus recently, with more and more students chose to further their study overseas, for its study environment is better than in China. But others, in contrast, hold that further study in China is the best choice. Personally, I maintain that it is better for the graduate students to pursue graduate study in China. My statement is based on the following three reasons.

Firstly, students don’t need much time to adapt to the environment so that they can pay attention to the study. If the university is in China, students can adapt to the new environment quickly. As a Chinese, we are the perfect citizens who know our culture well, including language, customs, food, education system and so on. You spend less time on adaptation than others, so you can study better than others. This may be a good point that you can study better than others. It is really beneficial that you can devote yourself to study within a little time.

Secondly, there are many good universities in China which are good choices for students to further their study today. Many graduate students choose overseas school to further their study because they think there are no good schools in China. But with the development of our society, big changes take place in our country. Nowadays more and more people choose the universities in China, such as Qinghua, Beida, which can offer a good environment and resource to students. Also, there are many distinguished teachers in those universities, so you can learn more.

Finally, further study in China can help you save money. As we all know, studying overseas costs a lot of money, while most students are not very rich in China. If you persist in studying overseas, this must put a big pressure on your family. To make matter worse, you may have to take a part-time job to make money for your life as you study, and which will have a bad effect on your study. However, if you choose to study in China, you won’t spend too much money so that you can concentrate on your study and enjoy your life. If you want, you can go travel to expand your horizon and acquire the skills that you can’t get in school.

From the above, we can easily see that study in China has many advantages. You are familiar with the environment and you can save money at the same time you can also study well. I am not turning a blind eye to the disadvantages of furthering study in China, but its advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore, it is better for graduate students to further their study in China.
