Unit 1 My friends Period 2 Language focus: Using yes/no questions to find out specific information. ., Is he Danny? Is he tall? Language skills: Play the game ‘find my friend’ and describe her/him in groups of four. 1. Listening 1). Identify the key words in an utterance by hearing the pronunciation ., fat, thin, tall, short, boy, girl 2). Understanding yes/no questions to find out specific information 2. Speaking 1). Pronounce the words, phrases and sentences correctly. ., fat, thin, tall, short, boy, girl 2. Use yes/no question to find out specific information Materials: Pre Activity 1 While Activity 1 Student’s book 3A, p14 task preparation: Let the students sing a song. (If you are happy) task preparation: Use the flashcards to let the students say out the word as quickly as possible. Activity 2 Activity3: Activity 4 task procedure: s She s shis thin. She can play basketball. Who is she? Play a game. ‘I do, you say’. Use the body language to let students guess ‘thin, fat, big, small, short, tall’. Then ask some students to play ‘little teacher’, let the other students guess. Activity 5: Let the students write the first letter of her/his friend’s name … on the blackboard and introduce him or her. Finally ask the class to guess who this person is. Post Activity 1 task activities: Show students the video of ‘say and act’ or play the tape of it. Ask four students to have the role T: Who is your friend, Kitty? S1: She is tall. She is thin. She can play basketball. S2: Is she Mary? S3: Yes, she is.
