辨析”must””have to””have got to” 一、must的用法

1）表示主观的义务和必要,主要用于肯定句和疑问句,意思为“必须……，

得……，要……”；由must引起的疑问句，肯定回答要用must或have to,否定回答要用needn’t或don’t have to,意思是“不必”；must的否定形式mustn’t表示禁止，意思是“不能，不许”。如：

We must find a good way to learn computer well. 我们必须找一个学好电脑的方法。 —Must I finish the task right now? 我现在必须完成这个工作吗？

Your sister must be a doctor in this hospital.（现在的猜测） 你姐姐一定是这家医院的医生。

He must be reading newspapers in the reading room now. （正在进行的猜测）

1）must表示一种主观的需要，而have to表示一种客观的需要，意思是“不得不”。如：

I have to attend an important meeting this afternoon. 今天下午我不得不参加一个重要的会议。

Mother is out,so I have to look after the shop. 妈妈不在家，因此我不得不照看商店。

2）have to的否定形式是don’t have to,相当于needn’t。如： They don’t have to buy a computer at present. 他们目前没有必要买电脑。

3）have to与have got to常可以互换。 4、I have got to go我不得步走了

I have got to finish courseworks before getting bed. 我必须写完作业才能上床睡觉

5. You have got to think strength, think health, think riches. 你必须自己时刻想着力量、健康和富足。

6 You can not please everyone ,so you have got to please yourself.

注：表示一次性动作时,have got to和have to 可互换。

4) Take voluntary redundancy 采取自愿离开. (Take VR, 公司通常会給 Severance package遣散费)

Meaning : Usually due to downsizing or restructuring situations. Example : She was asked to take voluntary redundancy from a job she adored.

5) Give notice 通知. (離职通知, 通常是兩个星期前提出) Meaning : Terminate the employment of.

Example : I've given my company notice to quit. 我已给了公司離职通知.

Meaning : To dismiss somebody from a job.

Example : One of the workmen was sacked for stealing/ drunkenness.

一名工人因偷窃/ 酗酒而被解雇。 2) Dismiss 解雇；免职；开除.

Meaning : To officially remove somebody from their job Example : If you are late again, you will be dismissed. 如果你再迟到, 你将被解雇.

3) Make redundantmade 【英】被解雇的;失业的.

Meaning : Of a person without a job because there is no more work available for you in a company.

Example : We have make some staff redundant to reduce overman.

4) Lay -off （因工作不多的）解雇，裁员 ..被裁减的.

Meaning : Used to tell somebody to stop doing something .

Example : She was laid off together with hundreds of other workers when the company downsized.
