Do you know any science fiction writers? Who is your favourite one? Have you ever heard of Jules Verne or H.G. Wells? 1. Skimming Read the first story written by Jules Verne and ask questions. Read the second story and complete relevant exercises to help understand. 2. Scanning Compare the two science fiction stories and find out similarities and differences both in content and writing. Students work in groups to write a science fiction story. 1. Decide what story they would like to write. 2. Decide the setting and the main characters. 3. Decide how many parts their story will have.
